Complexity of classes

I get it. I am not most super duper meta player, but still, this season im able to push my Demo Lock to 2,2k rio, so probably not really casual. According to raider io in top 20% of players. But still, some classes i find overwhelming. Im playing on Razer Tartarus, so basically im limited to 19 keybinds. Im buffled of how many classes and specs just cannot fit in there. Some classes have like 15 buttons just to deal damage, if you add kicks, defensives, heals. utilities youre easily on 23-25 buttons. Isnt it too much?

Why are you limited to 19 keybinds?
If Im looking at it correct, you have 19 keys on the Razer Tartarus right? So it could be, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,F1,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6,F6,F7,F8,F9 and then you just add Shift, that gives you 38 buttons, still leaving room for some of the classics, R, T, F, G, C, X, V, A, S, D, shift and or Ctrl versions of the same. I feel like its just a matter of getting used to that some specs have a lot and some classes dont. But I have not seen a spec that I literally couldn’t fit into keybinds.

It’s important to understand that the majority of players in this game are not concerned with rotations, and yet they are still able to clear the majority of content. The core abilities for most classes range from 4 to 8 buttons, and it’s rare to see players using them to their full potential. This game is not as challenging as some might think, and the content is designed with this in mind.

Hopefully one day the mere existence of WoW will no longer necessitate an entire dedicated product line of pc peripherals.

If you’re not using your feet as well you’re not a true gamer.

It is too much and the worst part about is the fact that the addons crowd believes it should be even more, because if you don’t have 10 sound weakauras with airhorns blasting into your ears then it’s not fun.

Legion seemed like a sweet spot between bloat, both in terms of buttons used in a rotation and generally.

You’re a PvE player. You don’t even use half the spells available to your class. Why is that a problem exactly?

Show the the class that has more than 10 abilities in the core GCD OGCD rotation (excluding 1m-5mCD buff moves)

Something like this?

Brewmaster:
Rushing jade wind
Keg smash
Fire breath
Black out kick
Tiger palm
Rising sun kick
Spinning crane kick
Purify brew
Celestial brew
Expel harm

Mistweaver:
Faeline stomp
Rising sun kick
Black out kick
Tiger palm
Spinning crane kick
Renewing mist
Vivify
Soothing mist
Enveloping mist
Expel harm
Essence font
Dispell

Specs like brewmaster and guardian are really not comparable with the amount of buttons and complexity.

Don’t you have a keyboard?

I will never understand this obsession with keybinding everything. I have like 5 for generic: Stun, cleanse, self heal, self shield, interrupt.

I think people are making it harder than it needs to be and only the super duper top people need their billions of addons and keybindings.

I agree so much, i guess we are many players converging to the same conclusion

Some people enjoy that complexity.

Instead of making the game lame for those of us who do enjoy it, how about people who don’t just go ahead and pick a less complex class?

I am not disagreeing. I am only disagreeing with people claiming there are no complex classes with easy 10+ buttons basically on rotation.

But it is also true brewmaster got more complex coming from shadowlands.

And then i think it is bad to push people out of a spec they very much enjoyed playing.

They can still play the complex class if they enjoy it. They just have to accept that they’ll have to put in more effort if they want to perform at the highest levels of competitive gameplay.

If they’re not interested in being very competitive, they can still pick this class and play it suboptimally, with inferior passive talents for example.
