Comprehensive list of things I think would be upgrades to the game

Hi, I’m curious as to how many people actually think like me(that use the forums) so here it goes:

.Remove titanforging
.Remove socket RNG
.Add back master loot as an option
.Add class depth
.More than 1 seasonal m+ affix
.Rework talent trees to a more “vanilla” style but with more interactive fun stuff
.Remove LFR
.Remove LFD
.Add little fun low ilvl sets for more casual people
.Make overhall itemization more fun (less statsticks)
.Make “AP” tree more fun (8.2 but other stuff besides +3% stam) and have a clear end to it
.Bring back a “mage tower” for class specific cool cosmetics
.Make professions more interactive in bettwen players and more relevant(jewellcrafters make sockets, blacksmiths/lw/tailoring increase gear power and craft 2/3 boe raid items)
.Level squish
.Actually advertive the game to new players
.Learning skills from a trainer(???) this one isnt that important just flavor.

3 things I hate the most:

  1. Lists
    3 . People who can’t count

  1. I am fine with Titanforging & RNG, it gives people a chance who would not necessarily do higher level mythic keys to get gear, plus with the Benthic gear, titanforging and RNG is not really an issue.

  2. I agree master loot should be an option as well as personal loot.

  3. I also agree that classes need fixing. If classes could go back to the time of MOP, I would jump for joy.

  4. LFR/LFD do not need to be removed because lets face it, not everyone has a big guild or want to make friends in an MMO/MMORPG. Some people also have time constraints. LFR/LFD helps feel the need for people who simply want to complete the achievement, do a quest, or just hunt mogs. It is optional to use so keep it.

  5. I agree about professions, they need revamping and should be relevant to the game, right now they seem highly optional.

  6. I have seen advertisements for the game, the issue is that something like WOW requires a time commitment and lets face it, today’s gamer is too busy with FPS or battle royale games like Fortnite, they are not really interested in a WOW type of game and if they do play other mmos/mmorpgs they will not have the time to pick up another one.

Basically you described classic, I would recommend that when it launches.

Go play classic you can have all that there.

Without any sort of alternative system? Nope.
With a good alternative? Sure.

Agreed.

Disagree.

That’s vague. Could you give an example of what you would consider ‘class depth’?

Whatever. I don’t do m+, so sure. I’ll agree.

Vanilla talent trees had very little ‘interactive fun’ stuff. It was mostly stat filler stuff. More choices in talents I agree on though.

No.

No.

Can’t say this appeals to me, even though I do what you would probably call ‘casual content’ (I don’t see myself as a casual player though).

How? Procs on everything? That’d make everything boring AGAIN. Procs and special stuff are special/cool because they’re somewhat rare. So how would you suggest to accomplish what you ask?

I’d rather not see AP return tbh.

Meh.

Agreed.

Don’t really care one way or the other. I’d be fine with a level squish, but I’d also be fine if it remains as is.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

No thanks.

Overal, as others have noted too, it seems you want the game to be more like vanilla was.
Classic release is close. Why don’t you try that?

Problem with that is, I do like alot of the Classic WoW system and philosphy but I really enjoy alot of retail’s content (especially raids and dungeons) so I see my ideal version of WoW as something in between

More seriousely, why would it even remotely make the game better ?

Let’s say you remove LFD, then what ? Will people start making groups for dungeons through the good ol’ chat ? Of course they won’t, they will just focus on more efficient content because let’s face it, if there’s a more efficient way to level up then it’ll be the focus of most players. Once they no longer queue, you’ll have to wait a while to form a party and at this point almost every players will just forget dungeons and focus on quests. The others will go through their guilds and Friends but i doubt that’s what you’re looking for.

Let’s say you remove LFR, what will it bring ? You removed the most useless way to gear (takes longer to queue for LFR as a dps than to earn enough manapearls for a 400ilvl piece) which is mostly used for transmog, sightseeing, story and mounts. What do you expect from this ?

As long as emissaries and catchup Gear reward normal raid gear, why would removing lfr matter in any way ? There may be an increase in normal pug participation but that’s it.

Most of your suggestions except the most obvious ones (TF gems professions and so on) makes me wonder about one thing in particular : what do you even expect from your “ideal” World of Warcraft ? Because most of them are either flawed or missing the point imo.

I’ll be clearer then since I didnt name the replacements

Remove LFR and make Normal difficulty easy to pug as the entry to see if you want to raid or if you just want to raid really casually, because I think that casual players deserve a better look at the raid then the washed up mess that lfr is.

If LFD didnt exist then there would be more people either using the premade group maker, which I think would remain or joining guilds as socials and other sorts of things then getting a better view of the game and being more enticed by the higher content or just keeping server pop/economy better.

Talent trees because I feel the current system is very unrewarding while leveling to new players and doesnt keep them in the game.

TL;DR I want wow to be more casual friedly so there are more people playing and I want the things I see as problems in end game content fixed( you didnt mention them in your quote so I didnt refer to them here)

Don’t decide for other players.
I like LFR because I can just queue up for it first and foremost.
You know what would happen if they removed that? No, I would not start looking for pugs for it. I’d never raid again. In fact, I would probably just quit the game.
So no; your thinking here is flawed, dude.

But do you know what even more people would do; quit. Or just not do the content.

Removing easy access to content doesn’t magically get people to start going through hoops to do that content. It really doesn’t.

Removing LFR and LFD is the opposite of casual friendly. :expressionless:

I like it but as i know it bothers lot of people i would suggest leaving it on quest reward items when leveling ( on character levels 1-119) and replacing current one on top level with adding more rare good ilvl world drops (think of vanilla style) and token upgrade systems grindable everywhere.

And replace it by adding more solid sockets and profession added sockets.

Sure but make it usable only in manually formed groups and only at start of the instance (so after setting certain loot mode at the start it is not possible to change it again during that run).

Yes please!!!

Yes please. Make them proper and complicated with lot of options to alter your playstyle.

That would be absolutely stupid thing to do considering how popular it is.

This also would be absolutely stupid thing to do considering how popular it is.

Add fun high ilvl sets for more casual people as well. What ever that casual means.

Yes please. Also look wise.

I am not big on removing things in general but on this one i would say just remove the whole AP. With that new “old style” complicated talent tree we wouldn’t need any AP systems. If we want horizontal leveling system it shuold be something fun and account wise, where all alts no matter what level could contribute into it after one character has unlocked the system.

I am not big fan of instanced content whether it is solo or group, i like open world. I would prefer having more open world challenges and metaevents that scale based on amount players participating.

For me it would be enough if they would just return the professions to how they were before wod.

No thanks. Solely because i don’t think they could do it without messing lot of things up. After seeing how they did scaling i have absolutely no trust for them messing with levels.

Would be good idea but it doesn’t help to advertise if problems in the game for new player are not fixed.

Yeah why not. I might be alone on this but i would also like get weapon skills back.

I didn’t comment on mythic suggestion because i have absolutely no opinion on it.

So Classic.

Personally i believe WoW could use a few things to make it better:

  • Make every in game zone scale up to Heroic level gear/ dmg health wise, this way only the people that truly CLEAR the most difficult content can ever ‘‘breeze’’ through open world stuff
  • Remove LFR, it actively promotes asocial behaviour in an MMORPG wich is completely counterproductive to the experience you’re trying to sell your players.
  • Bring back class/spec overlap, a lot, an i mean A LOT of abilities in the game were never ‘‘pruned’’ they were simply locked to a spec with no real reason for it, make most of the dmg/healing/mitigation spells you unlock as earlier level say 50 and under usable by all specs of the class period.
  • Make professions matter again, make profession gear scale better into late game, we should be able to craft 1 piece of Heroic raid level gear at least
  • Stop locking profession gear to the thing required for it, a lot of the reason professions exist is to help the economy and player trading
  • Bring back casual enchanting/ gemming, allow us to manually make gemslots on belts again, have raid gear come with Gemslots baseline again
  • Bring back tier sets to increase the longevity of raid tiers and encourage people to clear the raid more than once

A few things that would also benefit casual players entry into ‘‘real’’ content a lot would be:

  • Bring back PvP vendors to revive random battlegrounds
  • Have an option to solo queue for RBGs
  • Make the official RBG team size 6 people since 10/15/40 people is nearly impossible to organise to play on prime time every night
