How come that it’s still impossible for blizzard to implement a way that lets you transfer this to your alts to get 418 ilvl gear? It’s literally the end of the patch and I really can’t grasp the reasoning for keeping it character locked - we farmed it once, forcing us to do it on every single character is just extremely player unfriendly and should have been addressed long time ago
If its literally the end of the patch why do your alts need 418 gear? They will be able to get better very quickly next patch.
Blizz’s approach to this has always been pretty clear - they allow alts to catchup to a point to get them a baseline level but if you want bling then you need to actually play the character.
Like I said it should have been addressed a long time ago, and starting a new patch with better gear makes it a lot easier.
Why do we settle for this weird approach then? It’s disrespectful to player’s time and doesn’t serve any real purpose other than gatekeeping people from playing multiple characters.
Expanding on that logic, levelling is disrespecting my time because I don’t enjoy it.
And we should all start fully geared because otherwise we’re just being gatekept from playing multiple characters?
Yes, my examples were absurd to illustrate a point but you’re fixating on the destination and not the journey, you can play characters that aren’t fully geared you know.
I feel like the balance they’ve struck is reasonable, and they haven’t “addressed” it because its not a problem to them.
It does serve a real purpose. Its to give a sense of progression on individual characters.
I’m happy to say I’m pretty bad at most of my alts. So you don’t want me queuing up in 418 gear pretending I know what I’m doing as well as I know it on my Mains.
Well yes, it is a chore that nobody enjoys, and this is why blizzard figured out a way to profit on this by introducing character boosts.
You would only be able to get 418 gear if you previously grinded m+ to get the focus, you are not getting it for free. You invested your time into it and you should be able to spend it on whatever character you want to.
To Billyblue:
This is completely missing the point of my argument, and gear “progression” is not a real progression. Progression happens in actual content like raids or mythic keystones. You need the gear to start progression.
Also nobody is inviting people for actual end game content solely based on their ilvl so high gear vs skill argument is irrelevant here as well. It is also a personal issue and not an issue with the in game system.
