Conduits BoA?

Are the conduits going to be Bind on Account / have a corresponding version no matter what class? I think they should.

The cost to upgrade or get a conduit is currently 500 Stygia.
Considering classes seems to have something around 23 different conduits, with 15 ranks each:
500 * 23 * 15 = 172500 Stygia

This is of course some worst case scenario, since you can get some conduit item levels from drops - but it is not possible to rank up individual conduits, it’s all at the same time.

On top of this you may want sockets, which cost 2500 Stygia, on the 6 slots possible:
2500 * 6 = 15000 Stygia

Daily quests seem to award around 50 Stygia.
187500 / 50 = 3750 daily quests

How likely is it that you will start playing an Alt later on in the expansion and compete in serious PvP if you have to finish 3750 daily quests before?

Earn a rank on one character - get it on all imho.

You do realize that the vendor item is not meant to be the primary way to upgrade or obtain conduits, yes? It’s something for the end-game when you have no better thing to do than collect and level some of the conduits you don’t have at max. That’s it. That’s all it is for.

Wrong. You can have a 213 conduit drop, and that’ll level up that particular conduit. You can farm and target the conduits you want, at the level you need them at. You can even skip ranks.

They are very unlikely to just automatically unlock conduits for every class by doing content with one this would just encourage FoTM reroll behaviour entirely

There should be a distinct way to tell the difference between your main and Alts

There will likely be catch ups to a extent though.

I did say that. But a drop is still a drop - it is random.
If you get the one you want at a certain rank you still have to increase all the other ones as well before you can use the Stygia to increase your “targeted” one.

Maybe the PvP vendor will solve everything and people can play multiple characters in arena with all the conduits they want? Or? What do you think?

I see no problem with people playing multiple classes.
In fact, if everyone decides to play Priest in arena then that is a clear FotM indicator that there needs to be balance changes.
Right now people are stuck playing what they play because it takes too much time and effort to even try something else.

Why? Also, cannot gear be enough?
Do we really need extra systems like Essences, Azerite Power, Corruptions, Legendary effects, Covenants, Soulbinds, and Conduits to make the gap larger?

But you won’t need the Stygia to increase your targeted one. Just play content that drops the appropriate level of conduits, and you no longer need to care about the vendor item.

Of course, you can abuse the vendor item, but it’s not going to be efficient use of your time. You can just farm your targeted conduits in far less time by doing the content you actually enjoy. It might be RNG, but even then, still less time and effort than abusing the stygia-bought item that wasn’t meant to be used to upgrade your preferred conduits.

Oki say i take time off work, level up all 50 of my current max characters, and then farmed maw on every single one of them

I’d be unlocking 50 conduits every time I could buy one

You see how Ur system is highly abusable?

And yeah priests would need nerfing, and people who decide to hop class to the next FOTM should receive some punishment for doing so :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t mind a catch up system that makes it faster… but this is super abusable…

Playing multiple classes is fine, but given this system is supposed to give you conduits over the time you play different content. You will get the conduits playing your alt

also looks like max rank in season 1 appears to be rank 7. Unknown whether you can upgrade it higher with stygia. Probably can till they find out it is a bug :expressionless:

Seems to me it is intended, with the cap being increased for each patch that releases a new raid tier.

@Tinkspring + @Moosive
I’m worried we’re going to have a BFA S5 where the curve to enter arena is way way too high.

yes no it is intended that it stops at lvl 7 but I bet they forget that it can be upgraded randomly beyond lvl 7 with stygia

From what I can tell, nah. By the time you farm the gear for the char, chances are, you’ll have the conduits aswell. Maybe not at max rank, but close enough. Most conduit sources appear to be infinitely farmable (and much easier so than collecting Stygia), so they shouldn’t end up being the bottleneck.
