Every time I edit my config.WTF it doesn’t save when I log in, and it’s incredibly annoying because I’m getting terrible lag/FPS drops from some of the edited settings to spell effects and such.
Even if I delete my Interface, Cache and WTF folder, the config.wtf re-creates into an old save with ffxglow 0 and other settings.
My config.wtf/WoW client is already in admin and it’s off ‘read-only’ mode, with full access/permissions to my account, yet it still doesn’t save (notepad and ‘Save’)
What can I do? my installation for WoW classic is on c:/users/name/desktop/wow
I have found the culprit. It was the EZCastBars addon.
Are you editing it while WoW is running?
You could try /console set ffxGlow 0 command in WoW though I have seen other reports about this setting not getting saved properly for whatever reason.
And why have you installed the game on your desktop? That has to be the weirdest place to install it.
Both, in-game and out of game about 20+ times I’ve tried editing and saving config just to be certain, and I think originally I installed it on my desktop to access the folders quickly, but I guess it is a weird place.
Thank you for replying though
Edit: Another detail I’ve noticed is that if I right click > properties on my WoW folder and un-tick ‘Real Only’ and apply, it doesn’t actually stay saved either, it goes back to ‘read only’ … I’m guessing that this could be an issue with my permissions or account, if read only is the culprit.
