Confused about a havoc demon hunter spell

so i am playing a havoc demon hunter .all guides regarding havoc demon hunter says that in talents i choose demon blade talent which replaces demon bite with demon blade

now the problem i am facing is that demon blade is passive and no longer clickable as demon bite was and it was mostly the spell that is not on any cooldown .so what should i do ? should i put auto attack on my action bar so that when i have to attack enemy i press it to start the attack ?

any help regarding this would be appreciated.

Default hotkey for auto-attack is T unless you’ve changed it, so no need to put it on hotbar.

When I tried Demon Hunter I placed Felblade in the position I would have had Demon’s Bite, this way I could start combat with it and have the fury that it gives to move onto other abilities. I believe hitting it enabled auto attack too when you have it on cooldown (may be wrong but that’s how I remember it).

pressing t opens chat channels for me ?

i dont seem to have felblade spell uptil now or maybe i am looking at wrong place in spellbook

I think most melee abilities prompt an auto attack even if the ability is on cooldown or lacks resources and thus won’t execute (definitely true for paladin crusader strike at the very least).

Odd, was pretty sure that’s the default for anyone. The auto-attack keybinding is in Keybindings → Targeting → Attack Target. Set it to whatever is convenient for you, maybe whatever button you had Demon Bite on.

aah okay .it basically looks to be serving the same purpose as auto attack in action bar ?

yeah i see it now .it needs 4 more points in talent points to be able to be unlocked .

Yep :+1:t2: Can save an action bar slot unless you prefer that.
