When the first phase of pre patch hit, im pretty sure there was a keybind for simple interact and that i binded that key and used it every now and then.
Now that bu5tton is not working and i can only find binds for interact with mouseover or interact with target which both are basically useless, since the whole point for me to use interact key was that i dont need to see or find the npc or item that often is obscured by stupid players who are too self centered to dismount around stuff that other people need to interact with.
Is this bind removed after its added in the first prepatch or am i just not finding it? I used the search option for interact in options and it does not show this option, only “Enable interact key” and manual search around options does not provide results either.
I mean the whole point of interact key is that one does not need to see or target the interactable like i said before. Interact with target or mouseover does not work for me.
I thought it was under Gameplay > Controls options, but I can’t see it there anymore. The keybind for it was right under the option itself, not sure if it was also in the keybindings section. Guess it’s a repeat of the character screen mailbox icon; it was there for a short while, then removed for ages.
Scratch that. It’s still under Gameplay > Controls, it’s just been moved up a bit.
Yeah… Thats the one option i found but was not working as i thought it would.
It required me to ctarget the NPC manually first and then it would interact when i pressed the key. Oddly enough after changing character and testing it again whedn i read your reply, it worked again withoput need to manually target the npc. Could be a bit buggy still. Have to test it more and report as bug if it conmtinues to be wonky.
Yeah I’ve found it to be a bit finnicky too. There’s also a slash command to increase the range at which you can use it, though I don’t remember what it is off the top of my head. It’s in the newest patch notes iirc. The default range was “10” and I found it became a lot better when I set it to 20.
