So I’ve read everywhere that it’s not worth using my honour points to upgrade my Aspirant’s gear, because the item level will be the same during PVP regardless of the gear level.
But what about the stat increases when you upgrade the item? Do the increased stats count for nothing in PVP?
Not honor anymore but flightstones. Not worth if you plan to use it in PvP exclusively. Ilvl in PvP is fixated for PvP gear, so these upgrades are for PvE only.
Ok, so just to clarify, because it still doesn’t make sense to me…
If I go to Coraxian in the Gladiator’s Refuge, I can pay 192 Flightstones to upgrade my Verdant Aspirant’s Leather Spaulders 8 times, it says it gives me +35 Versatility, as well as other increases.
But what you’re saying is, in fact this is not true for PVP?
So PVP gear will only ever stay at the base stats it comes with? There’s literally no point in upgrading any gear for PVP purposes?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s no way in the game of me knowing this, is there? Is this just another example of Blizzard making certain elements of the game very unclear to players?
There are some exceptions for example, with Trophy of Strife you can upgrade Warmode gear’s PvP itemlevel. from let’s say 476 to 486.
I’m sure there are PvP gearing guides on internet.
It is a bit complicated yes but once you learn that’s it.
There is also a simple way of testing it. If you go to a PvP dummy and auto attack it you’ll see real stats and item level of your PvP items or in a PvP world quest zone.
No, upgrading your PVP gear has absolutely no effect in PVP.
Just queue for an arena skirmish, hover over your gear and check that the item leves and secondary stat distribution. It’s the max possible for that kind of gear.
Upgrading PVP gear is only for PVP players who do absolutely no PVE, but would like to do world quests for gold and such, and there they can benefit from a slightly higher ilvl
