Don’t worry, I’m sure there will be a new essence or some other mandatory grind soon to get people into pvp again. That’s blizzards solution for underplayed content now.
Totally agree about pillars, objects in arena.
+1 from me, MoP PvP was some of the better times in my book when it came to PvP from a casual point at least, but i could still enjoy it and was not benched on one char and could enjoy my alts in the same aspect duo to the PvP gear and none the less that i could get conquest tokens. It didn’t take to long to really farm up the gear as it is now with the RNG.
I just really want PvP vendors back and some love to the PvP community again…
World PvP is far superior to arena. But I was actually just talking about Battlegrounds.
That should be the focus for PvP.
both are braindead, not competitive and require no skill.
WoW PvP started becoming great with the introduction of arenas, that’s also when all of the PvP movies were created.
Who cares about being competitive, it’s irrelevant.
WoW PVP started to degrate with the introduction of arenas. Brought in massive amounts of toxic people and ruined class balance.
Esports has no play in WoW, or any MMORPG for that matter.
Oh and pvp movies came way before arena…
Ok this has to be a joke because if not, then idk where to start even.
The problem with pvp vendors is that it removes the obligation to do other content like mythic+ and world quests. Blizzard wants you to have a well-rounded experience, not just spamming BG’s over and over.
So nowadays I play only PvE (and specifically M +10) because it is the part of the endgame I currently enjoy and actually lets me gear up for good. I don’t have to PvP in any way EVER because 415 ilvl is crap.
What I’m trying to say is: why make PvE rewards top for both PvP and PvE but PvP rewards suck? If I’m a PvP person I’ll end up playing both but in my case, I just have to PvE and I’m done. It’s not fair at all for those that care only for PvP.
I dunno in what way is PVP dead. I played today Arena first time after several years(for Conflict and Strife essence) and i barely waited 10 sec in que each time and almost every game it was different team.
I did arena only until into the 1400s for the Conflict and Strife essence, then stopped because I found it too stressful and a little irritating (too much CC, etc), but waiting times were very short even outside prime time.
I understand why higher rated players want to play with a regular group of people they know. It’s a rated activity and if I was in their shoes, I’d want to play with equally rated players as well. Especially people I know and can communicate with.
How would you integrate high-end gearing into pvp then? Needing to do dragonslaying before being able to pvp is not a viable solution.
Just grind some honor and get the same gear as high-end pve? Sure. I’ll take it.
PvP is not really my thing, I do it only under duress but I had no idea it was in that bad a state.
Other than the odd random BG and some stuff for essences I’ve pretty much avoided it like the plague
First they need to make PvP fun to do again so all the people looking to “gear” or only participate for rewards get lost.
Then just do it similarly to right now, except with a vendor.
You do PvP and get honor, spend honor to buy your first set, once you have the full set the upgraded version unlocks for purchase. Just like right now when you go through the entire cycle of 415 gear you get 430 rewards.
The more you play the higher your gear.
How can you be so arrogant and stupid at the same time …
Amazing …
I dont usually reply to ghost characters or people who pref to hide behind a ghost character to troll or b8 others but gz , you are on the clown spotlight.
Imagine saying ‘‘Good’’ when they killed a mode in the game we pay to play.
I’m not sure why you try to bring your philosophies of PvP here in the thread when clearly the talk is about competitive rated pvp.
You come around and tell us to let arena die off and the competitive part of this game die with it right away and tell us to balance wpvp when there LITERALLY was never balance as well as random battlegrounds.
Arena has been the most balanced PvP part of this game since introduction and by Arenas you can determine which classes AND players are actually good or competitve in PvP.
If I’d only play BGS and would switch to Arena i would have not any clue how to perform neither would i know how to play and would probably sit around 1500? If I only play Arenas the skill I learned from this will also go over to Wpvp and battlegrounds. So yes Arena is basically the true part of PvP.
I’m also playing Classic and saying that you don’t need to be biased about that because in Classic there aren’t Arenas at all, considering if you play it.
You’re one to talk about being arrogant mate… thats all you are on these boards.
But yes, I’ll gladly say it again IT’S GOOD ARENA IS DYING OFF.
Fingers crossed for removing it in 9.0
Arena being “balanced” IS the problem. Because any form of PvP beyond it is tainted by it’s existence, asif it’s the only thing that matters.
It doesn’t have to. MoP did this very well too, at least towards the end. PvP gear was worse than PvE gear for PvE but would scale up to heroic/mythic(?) gear when you engaged in PvP and world PvP.
Ideally, the currency for the upgraded versions of the gear should only come from rated PvP. Honor for the base set, Conquest for the upgraded set.
Right now, Conquest Points are available from too many sources that have nothing to do with “serious PvP” (and require almost no PvP at all), like capping the weekly Conquest bar by attending a few Battle for Nazjatar battles through the LFG took, farming a flight point of the opposite faction, or a world quest. These activities probably should all only give honor.
Arena was not a mistake. It was an option for people who might enjoy that type of PVP.
But I agree, balancing PVP around arenas is a mistake.
