Connection Issues

Anyone else having issues connecting to one’s account on battlenet app and getting the realm list ingame?

Yesterday, I suddenly started having problems with connecting to specific realms. Yet today, I can’t login into battlenet to begin with. Getting stuck at the very first “Connecting” popup before game even loads a realm list as well as not being able to naturally connect to my account in battlenet app itself.

That said I am still able to play with NordVPN even though having 1500-2000 ping is rather unpleasant. AT LEAST IT FEELS LIKE AUTHENTIC VANILLA EXPERIENCE THAT WAY AMIRIGHT

Anyway. Makes me wonder if I’m the only one so unfortunate or other people are having the same issue today? Should I start running around in panic trying to fix the thing on my end because something suddenly broke or is it more global and I should just brace for now?

Cannot connect to Battlenet App.

Im having the same problem.

Cannot connect from China through mudfish or my shadowsocks server (or without any VPN/VPS).

I an only connect through Express VPN.

Note: I can log-in to the battle.net app but not anything else, cannot even launch games.

Mainland China here too :0

Blizzard’s ISP probably cut off Turkey, China and Japan to fight off the DDoS attacks or something. That or there is physical issue somewhere along the line to Europe.

Same, playing from Japan. Their “DDOS solution” seems to be to block anything outside Europe or a certain IP range.

I’m living in Japan, same issues. Can’t connect to eu.battle.net or through BattleNet launcher.

Let us in Blizz :pensive:

It is effecting Europe as well, to be honest, people in the UK, France, Spain and Germany have all reported the same problem.

Im uk and same thing here to has been on and off for about 4 days now

Reporting from Turkey and exactly having the same issue. It is kind of weird that I can only connect to Battlenet desktop application and access to Blizzard websites through VPN which of course is a paid service.

Something went wrong on the Blizzard side it seems and probably they restricted many ISPs across the world to handle these attacks.

Had a chat with the ISP and they said nothing was wrong on their side. I hope Blizzard takes some urgent actions to fix this.

It would probably be smooth in a couple of days when and if Blizzard takes some precautions and measures against these attacks.

Playing from China, having the same issues this morning and tonight. Can’t log into Battlenet app or WoW. Using Astrill VPN and trying different country servers / configurations.

Same here, playing from Japan and suddenly unable to play on my main classic server. I don’t use any vpn or anything, but was thinking about giving it a try in order to be able to play again, but seems that isn’t working either from what people are saying here.

SOLVED! I was finally able to login to Battlenet app! Astril VPN, used Korea server with StealthVPN option enabled.

Blizzard is this what we have to go through in order to play on your servers?!

Well not to be salty about Blizz not fixing stuff asap, but I’ve been using VPN (different one) to play the game today.
I mean yeah, normally I do use gaming vpn regardless, but this time I’m using a regular vpn to login rather than for lowering ping and avoiding pocket loss.

I am using tethering right now I can play, but sadly it has very limited speed and its only 4gig per month plan. So during my gaming seasons I can’t even visit youtube or join discord… Never used VPN and I have no experience with them, I do know how they work tho. What I’d like is to play the game just as I was able to 4 days ago without any additional hassle…

Do you still play> I’m using astrill but getting an error when I try open wow
