I’ve read through as many posts as I can and tried every solution available online and I cannot seem to fix my issue.
I mainly play on a Tower PC which has recently go to my office and have tried playing on my Huawei matebook 13 (Yes not ideal xD) just to grind my dailies and basic stuff to keep up but I get disconnected everytime I login after roughly 1-3 minutes. 5 mins very max! I know it must be a laptop issue as I’ve tested wow on my tower in the office on that network and it works fine but this laptop still has issues.
I’ve just completely reinstalled windows and removed everything ontop of reinstalling a fresh version of wow with no addons and it’s still happening!
to describe a bit more accurately my network is running fine (50 mbps down and 9.5 upload) internet browsing absolutely fine. Launch Wow and issues begin. my network never disconnects and shows i’m still connected but browsers won’t load and my whole laptop stops until wow has been disconnected for about 30 seconds?
Does anyone have an idea as to what this could be? I’ve reset all my firewall settings. no viruses. All drivers up to date. Any help would be hugely appreciated!
Yea. I log in, choose my character. loading screen takes forever then disconnect. Happens every time. I need to lead in at least twice every time I log into the game.
Now I just got in in Valdrakken, got on my drake and flew up, instant disconnect. Now I get disconnect every time in load screen after hitting “enter world”.
The game runs on fast m.2. my internet is fine. 1000 mbit. VPN doesnt change anything either. And my PC is perfectly fine barely 1 year old new hardware.
Disabling “Optimize Network for Speed” and “enable IPv6” might help. I got in instantly once I disabled them both. But also might be a placebo.
A bit of a call-out here: WoW servers (and all our networks) are fully IPv6 compatible, and have been for well over a decade by now. The same is unfortunately not true for all ISPs/data carriers across Europe - while IPv6 standard is well established, the actual work of updating the hardware and protocols across the board has been somewhat sluggish.
If toggling IPv6 mode (in either direction) makes any difference at all it usually means that the utilized ISP is somewhere in the transitional stage between IPv4 and IPv6 implementation in their network. A lot of IPv4 connections are also basically “simulated” these days, e.g. DSLite tends to be a v4 protocol tunnel inside a native v6 environment.
I’m going to try and make my post a little more understanding and explain better whilst bumping this thread.
I can login to the game and my latency is always fine. i.e. under 50. world and my own.
after 1-3 minutes this spikes high 1000ish on both my own and world and disconnects me. whilst it’s spiked my internet hasn’t entirely disconnected but won’t load internet pages etc and everything stops. If I leave it a minute or so it’s back to the first step.
When I’ve ping tested I don’t get any issues and if I use a different PC on this network that works fine and loads wow no problems. I expected this might of been a setting/firewall that I couldn’t figure out but after a fresh windows install and wow install it’s still the same.
