Has there been any discussions as to how they plan to release updates and expected cycles?
I hope to the almighty Odin that they opt to do slow releases and don’t rush things out.
I’d be happy with at least a 6 monthly cycle to allow the devs to properly polish content patches rather than the rushed, half baked 8 week cycles they have in retail. Also, I, as a player do not want to feel rushed. Allow me time to enjoy the game rather than being rushed from one patch to another. The retail team must be in constant crunch, I feel for them!
Message to the Forever Devs,
Classic players are of the most part patient.
We have been playing the same game with no changes for around 20 years now.
I know I’m kind of speaking for the playerbase as a whole here, and we are all different. Some won’t agree. But I feel this is likely the feeling of the majority of true classic players.
Please do not rush out any content to hit arbitrary self made deadlines.
Keep your goals S.M.A.R.T (Except for the T.. take more if you need it)
Each patch is basically just papering over the cracks of the previous one. Instead of fleshing it out properly, they basically rushed through the entire Midnight storyline in a matter of weeks, giving it a completely lame ending, and then had to try and cover it up with, you guessed it, another troll patch to distract everyone. That was rushed, too, and then players were force fed, wouldn’t you know it, yet another invasion patch. The entire story is now a convoluted mess. You can almost see exactly where Metzen stepped away.
And don’t get me started on what all that means for basic things like currencies and tokens. They were meant to trim them down, but with every patch there’s something new to buy with yet another new currency you have to farm. To quote MJ: “Just stop. Get some help”.
This can never happen to Forever. Keep the people who worked on Retail very far away from it.
