Controller question

Hi, I have started playing WoW with my Xbox controller a few months ago, and the experience is great! I was a clicker before, as I could not reach so many buttons on keyboard and I really don’t know how you ppl do it! Now with the controller everything is so much easier and faster. But anyway that is not the subject of this thread so please do not judge me!

My question is, has anyone tried using Xbox Elite series 2 controller on Mac m1? I saw one thread on Reddit a few months ago where the conclussion is that it is not recognized properly, but I am wondering has anything changed? Does it work now with Console port? I would like to buy it because of the extra buttons which could be usefull.

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure what is your question here. For a controller to work for WoW on Mac or PC you can connect it wirelessly to your machine, and install Console port addon for easier spell mapping. And you can use either ps4 controller or Xbox controller for series S/X and Xbox one. Maybe even Xbox 360 controller is also supported but I am not sure atm. I am not playing WoW on a console if that was your question, as WoW is not on consoles (Yet!).

I haven’t tried it on mac but I use one for wow on pc.
It uses basic xbox controller drivers for 99% of it’s functions so it should work on mac if you find any mac converted drivers and manually install it.
The official software (xbox game bar or something like that) is only for windows but it sucks either way.
The extra buttons only mirror the regular buttons and you can’t customize the extra buttons for any other function without 3rd party software such as rewasd or keysticks (Unsure which works on mac).
It’s a bit of a hassle but doable.

Thanks, I did not know about these additional programs. I have read now about rewasd, and I cannot believe that we need a new software for back pedals to be considered as new buttons. I mean I will give it a try, but seriously, what is the purpose of new buttons if we can only use them with 3rd party software :joy:
