Just wondering if you are still able to upgrade the set item once its been converted.
i.e currently have a chest piece that is 3/8 Champion (ilvl 460) and if I convert that said piece into a set item will I eventually be able to get it to 8/8?
I did read a report that onces its converted you can no longer upgrade the item.

That’s for s2 set items. S3 (the current) ones follow the same upgrade track as the base item you put into the catalyst.
Thanks, only just came back to wow last week From playing shadowlands, so not sure what that is really.
You can do time rifts and dreamsurges for a piece of gear that can be upgraded to 450 and converted into a season 2 set item. But if you convert it with the catalyst before upgrading its ilvl, it will be locked to low ilvl.
Current Season 3 items (like the one you mentioned) can still be upgraded even after converting them with the catalyst.
