I just noticed one thing. Players tend to be whining about convoke that been nerfed couple of times, that it is too op spell, but i dont understand how it is op when 4 seconds cast? I get oneshoted by paladins and rogues all the time. Even when im using convoke i still dont see any insane damage. My guild says you dont understand how the druid works then. I was just wondering why in balance spec it cant cast only damage skills? Maybe for real im doing something wrong! Any macros?
P. S. Im so sick of a 1 min solar beam… Shamans have 12 or 14 second cd silence and druids get solar🤦🏼♂️
A combination of an on use trinket + Potion + Celestial Alignment which triggers Balance of All Things legendary and give your convoke 40% extra crit (decreasing over 5 sec) + Immediately using convoke will deal insane amount of damage in the 4 sec window.
If you use it without the legendary effect active you lose the extra crit.
If you use it without Celestial Alignment, you don’t get the effect of both eclipses.
Convoke also tend to not apply dots or hots to targets already having them, and don’t attack CCed targets. So if take that in mind while positioning yourself such that targets you don’t want targeted are out of range, you can maximize its effect.
So yes, convoke needs a little bit of understand its mechanics in order to use it effectively.
I understand the usage of trinket and etcc, but i wrote macros for celestial alignment + convoke and sometimes it does work correctly, sometimes it doesnt. I mean i rewrote it several times. It seemed ok. But then again i face with a problem, when only works convoke or only celestial, or celestial cancels convoke. What i mean is…
/cast celestial alignment
/cast convoke the spirits
If you use it during GCD it will proc only CA and not Convoke. You need to use it outside of GCD window, download some WA to track GCD.
If you want to spam button and not fear for bug where it instantly ends Convoke write /cqs at the end, as a last line but it’s still better to watch out for GCD cause if you use it too early you can lose first sec of Boat which is huge crit buff.
SL eclipse is one of the worst designs in wow history.
Balance is too cd and borrowed power (BOAT legendary and Convoke) dependent. Outside that, Balance normal rotation and damage is absolutely trash. It is extremely boring and counter-intuitive.
The only good thing about Balance is the high numbers. And that is why Blizzard totally ignores the basic problems and think it is fine.
When it only uses one of the spells, it’s likely because one is on cooldown and the other isn’t. When Celestal cancels Convoke, it’s because the game tried to use it after Convoke started channeling.
I suggest a castsequence macro:
#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=15 Celestial Alignment, Convoke the Spirits
Press is twice in quick succession and it shouldn’t have a problem. Put Convoke somewhere else in your bar so that you can track its cooldown and ensure it’s up before casting Celestial.
