maybe you should /2 for an engineering glasses.
She has blue hair on bottom like a normy void elf.
But alleria is not a void elf, she s a high elf champion of the void. She can turn back and go back again to void <=> normal whenever she wants.
no sens
and actually she doesnt have those highlights so why in TWW ?
blue hair on void elve are not a dye, its about the void.
just another deconstruction of a beauty female character to a new feminist anti patriarcy blue haired one.
We shall see what happends in War within, latest cinematics for next patch she seems to regret having void powers as she wants to be with her family, both her husband and son use the Light. Her void powers prevents her to be with them. Perhaps she will abandon her void power later in War within. Give her powers to Umbric and let him fully take the lead for the void elves (No more co lead) and with her new look she might or already have joined her sister’s Silver covenant. Gonna miss her hood and quiver and wooden bow.
Is that… even possible?
Sure the Ren’dorei creation was different and can’t be reversed, and calling her a Void Elf is a stretch, but she consumed a Dark Naaru
I doubt she could be clenased or she just could regurgitate L’ura… or what remained of her
Unless Umbric absorbs L’ura from the same way Alleria did with L’ura. Or we always use the Titan Forge in Uldum that can draw out the Void like a poison from a wound. Which Magni Bronzebeard have been working on the Titan forge since BFA for few years. It can restore or alter the appearance of a subject. Down to its DNA. Or erase a race, similar forge is at Ulduar where Algalon the Observer tried to erase all races on Azeroth but we manage to stop him and make him see reason.

How is it a stretch to call Alleria a void elf, of she herself considers her to be ren’dorei?
In the traditional sense, simply she is not a Ren’dorei - sure she considers herself one, but while I could consider myself a rock, I still wouldn’t be a rock
She devoured the essence of a Void Naaru and that changed her
The Ren’dori were created by Nether-Prince Durzaan when he used a spell to attempt to transform the elves into creatures of the void that was interrupted and they retained their minds and souls and only partially changed
The two - so radically - different method can’t really end with the same result and produce the same thing
Aleria can controll his void form - like High Astromancer Solarian or the blood elves of the Sunfury who consumed the energies of Outland’s voidwalkers to power their magic - and lack the tentacles while the Ren’dorei are traped in their new form and only with the barber shop could retain their “normal” look (not really would call that “canon”) and their Void Form is randomly manifest
They are similar sure, Aleria and the Ren’dorei but not the same
She’s called a Void Elf by Blizzard and referred to as such in novels. There’s no stretch.

The same Blizzard that called Chronicles the ultimate and definitve encyclopedia and “truth”
Sorry If I reamain sceptical regarding anything they say when their “claims” fall apart compared to logic and their own facts
Not that it matter what I belive, since it was totally irrelevant in the discussion about she could abandon their void powers or not or could be cleansed or not
Spoilers: if she could be cleansed or could just abandon her void powers that would just proves I was right, since the rest of the Ren’dorei are “uncurable” - and remain so untill Blizzard implement a quest to become a High/Blood Elf again basically race change in to them
Alleria is not a Void elf like npcs void elves and players void elves.
She s a High Elf, champion of the void who can switch 100% - 0% from the void to normal

Appearances can be (and in this case are) deceiving. When I say she’s a Void Elf, it’s not an opinion. It’s what she is called by virtually every post-Legion source.

Of course it can, at least in Warcraft universe. It’s like saying that Illidan can’t be a demon hunter, because he got powered up directly by Sargeras, and all other demon hunters didn’t. Example with Illidan fits here very well IMHO, because just like Alleria, he’s got unique powers which other demon hunters don’t have. That doesn’t change the fact, that both him and Illidari are all considered demon hunters.
Same with Alleria. She and other void elves embrace the void, welcome it into their own being, and struggle with consequences. The fact that their origin is different doesn’t mean that the end result has to be different.

Look, if we disregard Blizzard and their works in a lore discussion, then all that we’re left with is headcanon. That’s hardly a good basis for a lore discussion.
You may not like certain parts of the lore, or retcons, or recontextualization, but if we want to establish what is or isn’t a fact according to the lore, we have to base it on current Blizzard narrative, whether we like it or not.

We don’t quite know yet the events that lead to Alleria’s change. I’m excited for all of it.
In the meantime, Alleria’s change is a perfect opportunity for more void elf customizations!

Probably that. I’m not a fan of short hair on women but Alleria looks more than decent on that picture up above.
Bit of a spoiler but seems its the opposite

Yeah seems the enitre cinematic scene for dark heart was pointless. With the new short story coming. Shadowlands writing detected I quess. As the scene looked and sounded like she was missing them and the void prevented her from that, but it was just lies.
Just to comment on the short story ‘Whispers of Warning’ that was just released today.
Minor spoilers about Alleria’s new outfit below:
The story is supposed to take place right after the cinematic where Khadgar asks Alleria to find the Dark Heart relic. However, in the short story there are minor references to Alleria’s boots having some silver embellishments, or about her wearing heavy silver coloured armour on her left arm.
This would mean, Alleria already has her new silver outfit before engaging in the quest series. Therefore, no explanation given on the change of appearance? I was hoping we’d be told some context

I think you’re really stretching it there. The new Alleria has a wonderful High elven, thick braid. She has a magnificent looking void-infused bow, a symbol of an elvish ranger. She has shiny blue eyes, and blue eye makeup akin to her High elven heritage, with a slight hint of Void blue.
They could have done a better job with her face (looks aged?) and the colour scheme on her clothes (too much white on the clothes, could’ve had some blue in there) but overall I think the new Alleria looks strong and maintains grace as the elven ranger-general she once was. I feel that she has now ‘‘upgraded’’ rather than downgraded. Perhaps it is the clothes you are not fond of and the black part on the bottom of the hair? It merely symbolizes her stronger connection to her inner void powers, as we will most likely come to learn in TWW that she has been empowered even more by the Void than she was before by opening herself to it more.
Thank you sooo much Waygos you’re so sweet! Wishing for updated running and casting animations for dwarves and humans! Also sexier human models!! Like this new lady, Faeryn Lothar!
That’s right! I hope that in TWW we are provided with a thorough update on how the Ren’Dorei’s research into the Void is going. Perhaps they can learn to control their Void powers on command, as would a Shadow Priest, and contain the Void within them when needed, so it doesn’t go rampant at unpredicted times. I hope such ‘‘research’’ can eventually lead into the introduction of Void elven Shamans and Paladins to our ranks! By harnessing the power of the Void in many different ways. Who knows, it could be even used for healing through empowerment, just like N’Zoth did with Azshara! He transformed her into a much stronger being didn’t he? Ofcourse the regular void lords would not be able to afford something of such magnitude, but could perhaps be ‘‘persuaded’’ into providing powers of protection and even healing, in their own way. Remember the ability ‘‘Shadowmend’’ that Disc Priests have?
Preach! I’m in love with her new look, her eyes, makeup, her magnificent braid, and ofc the two-tone hair colour! Rooting as hard as I can for Starcursed hair as well!! I’d kill to have that thick braid on my Void elf!! I had commissioned Rama for a similar looking braid on my Velf long before Alleria’s new look was revealed!
That’s a good observation, it’s most likely not commented on because it’s encrypted and intensely hidden until TWW launch or Beta, most likely a BIG spoiler if revealed!

Didn’t read the whole 300 messages, I’m too lazy for that, but I’ll throw my agreement with the top post. More voidy customisations would be nice for the Void elves.
(I also think I saw an idea of throwing in tattoos that’d be red/gold/black/whatev on belves and voidy/black/dark blue/purples on velves and that’s cool. Show the separated kinship.)
