So I’ve not played retail in a while. To me it just doesn’t feel engaging.
BUT
If corpse explosion comes back in Shadowlands I swear down you will have a new DK in your ranks. Is there any word on this?
nope corpse explosion does not work since there are rarely corpses in the usual fights. Aka arena raid bosses.
You will be able to explode your ghoul heal yourself and do aoe dmg which is cool.
“The new Sacrificial Pact ability enables Death Knights to perform a forbidden ritual, sacrificing one of their undead minions, siphoning their health and causing them to explode and deal damage to nearby enemies”
You have to wait for more information.

Corpse explosion is still in the game. Although it doesn’t do any damage.
However, as another post pointed out, you will be able to detonate your ghoul
