Corruption is back but she is useless

Hello,
First sorry for my bad english, this is not my native language.
I hear that corruption was return on patch 11.1.5. i was happy about it since corruption was fun, and it was a nice boost to our character, but then i go see what it was about on wowhead, and this is so disapointing…

They are enchant now, you can have only one of them. And the total output damage is less than 1% increase damage…

In other word, they are back but as cosmetic effect.

So my question is simple, what is the point to bring it back, if this is only a pityfull shadow of what it was before ?

I mean less than 1% increase damage… For all of them exept void rituals… I’m suppose to make effort to get that useless enchant ?

Someone can explain to me the purpose of this return ?

Im just guessing here, but maybe its not about power, as people have made it very clear they dont like borrowed power. Maybe it is more about giving people a change to experience, or re-experience horrific visions.
If you dont think it is worth your time, nobodys forcing you to do it, not everything has to be about min/maxing, the ultimate goal of any game is to have fun.

They buffed it to 3% last time I heard.
And yeah don’t expect BfA circus where corruptions did like 90% of your overall damage.

Was fun when you were playing guardian druid, used incarnation and then procced twilight devastation several times when it was bursting. Instawipe.

Yeah i would have liked to seen it return with more options except for the gimmicky ones that are returning now so i can see why they nerfed them because they just broke the game

Well it was more than 90% i think lol.
But i don’t ask for that… at least 10% i don’t know…currently, we won’t even notice it…

Call me mad, but i miss bfa… The stuff grinding was fun, there was a huge différence between someone really opti, and a random dude.

I usually do not like pve, but bfa force me to do some to get some juicy item or trinket, and in the end i liked it. Now, since you get free pvp gear and in no time, no reason to do pve… So we don’t do it.

nvm this is not the topic… I’m just sad to see that this corruption that i was exited about, will just be a meaningless little enchant…

Well not everybody hate corruption. As you said, we want fun… And i think corruption era was more fun than now.
Before you had to grind, but you had good rewards for your grinds…

You could stuff in pve even for pvp so more activity to do…

It was not “borrowed power” it was more “farm, and you will get rewards” now this is more, just get an wow account, and we give you free stuff. Everybody get the same stuff. So this is boring.

And fun is about chaos. Corruption was pure chaos, the vision was FUN. And had good rewards so you wanted to do it.

Now as a pvp player, no need to do pve, no need to grind for stuff they litterally give it to you, at this point, why not just delete stuff for pvp will be kind the same in some way…

Now my life as a pvp player is to log, if some friend are here 2s/3s, but most of time, i just log, q in brawl, alt+tab, wait 20min, for a game, then alt tab again for 20min lol. I thinked i could do some vision and i will, but the amounth of damage you win with corruption is so little that you are not happy to do it, you just do it because you feel you have too. This is only 1% damage so you just do it to stay equal with other, and not because it is fun.

Anyway, i will adapt as always…

Ok so this is amazing they was less than 1% and now they are less that 2%…
This is suppose to be cool ? :frowning:

Same story, 2% this is kind of elemental focusing lens… not enought damage to get excited about, just enough to make you fell that you have to do it…

What about hight risk, hight rewards ? A significative boost of power at the cost of an elitist grind…? This is the only way to do something cool: there is no strong without weak, and no good without evil

Anyway i stop whine this is useless (but i feel better now lol)

And werent the PvP guys complaining that they had to do PvE with them “dragon slayers” so they can get the gear to do PvP?

seems like a weird choice tbh. can bring back visions without the corruptions which prob wouldve been better looking at the current implementation

They were estimated to be 1% pre 186% nerf. So it should be around 2-3%. Which is more than fine for an enchant.

Fun. Strange concept, I know.

And its good that corruptions don’t make the old return because 90% of hte playerbase were running around with more corruption than their butt could handle and then whined when they died and how its everybodies fault except their own for having every negative effect under the sun applied to them.

Their strength is fine. They arent intended to turn the content into a zergfest like Nylotha did and a reason why nobody took N’Zoth post full bis corruptions seriously anymore. Boss became a pinata.

And for M+ you would have everyone run around with TD if it were the old version. Coupled with a dead DPS because of tank aggro in TWW should the tank not proc it prior to you or at the same time before you get instagibbed by a single melee swing.

Some of them yeah, but i’m not one of them for sure…i complain at the begin, but finally, was quite busy with raid, mm, vision… Lot of stuff to do and good rewards for it…

Now is kind of empty…at least, we all had different stuff, some better than other but that’s the reason why it was cool to loot a cool stuff. More important there was a feeling of rewarding stuff, and farming who is totally gone nowadays…

The only things i don’t miss about bfa is the huge rng on Azerith item

What is fun, is to get stronger than other thx to grind and get better Gears than other.

We are not of call of duty right, so why we all got same stuff same stat ?

2/3% is disapointing when you knew what was corroumption…

This is not fun… Corruption was fun.

Now is just boring 2025 wow standardised and tasteless factory

Thats still in the game so enjoy. You still have a long way to go in terms of getting stronger on your toon.

Its really not. If you believed they would bring back the corruptions of old then the issue lies with you. Especially since the old corruptions would be overkill with the current system/class design and reduce even dungeons to 1fps abominations.

Cancel your sub then. Speak with your wallet.

They want to do an event that is a “return to the past”. Like Mage Tower 2.0.

And when corruptions existed in BFA it was the last season of the expansion. You can make things stupid OP in the last season of an expansion because it will “reset” in the next one.

If they implemented corruptions as they were right now, they would have to remove them from you in S3. And that would feel really bad.

The question you should ask yourself is not “why are they just a 1% increase”. But WHY did blizzard implement this feature right now. Why not in S4 of TWW. Because then they could go bonkers with their power. Like they did in BFA.

There won’t be a season 4 of TWW. They want shorter expansions, so the logical though would be that they are getting rid of the awakened season. How ever you should ask yourself but why are they adding the enchant and bullions in S2 and not the last patch of the expansion? Are we going to see the first 2 season expansion.

Also

I prefer boring over annoying. I’m so glad that its just a 1-2% thing, corruption and covenants were my most hated systems in this game, and I am still trying to figure out which one I hate more.

The difference being only one of them was still playing the game.

Well then OP is right. If S2 is indeed the last season of the expansion, then they should make them OP as hell. As they were in BFA.

And if they wont do a fated season 4 and end the expansion in S3 then fine. That is when they should put OP bonkers things.

But the roadmap explicitly states there is a 11.2 content patch, it even literally has the “11.2” and “Season 3” parts typed on the banner. So we definitely have a S3.
