Without changes this will easily be the most rng gearing dependent system of all time.
With a cloak max leveled it will grant you 125 corrution resistance and a new 8.3 minor essence will give you 10 extral totaling 135
for example the stat increase from all sources corruption is:
6%/9%/12% haste/versa/crit/mastery from all sources with 10/15/20 corruption per tier (this is not even talking about the idiotic things like falling star, and ineffable truth)
the problem? the versa/other best secondary stat bonus from this is beyond insane but comepletly locked behind RNG of with a chance of 6/50
if anyone seriously thought gear last season was bad wait until you ger randomly fcked by rolls on corrupted gear putting you at some insane disadantagevs some guy with absloutly insane rolls from just spamming m+
blizzard please just disable this horrible system for pvp or just tempate into some generic stat boost so you can just use any corrupted gear in pvp. pvp did not need any more rng in it’s gearing method and this is just worse for it then titanforging

God I can’t be bothered. I really want the elite set this season, but I can’t be arsed to force myself into garbage, boring PvE again and deal with that terrible mess just to stand a chance in arena.
I’m still ilvl 410 and this is my main. Urgh.

Yes, its exactly whats happening, this gonna be the worst patch of WoW of all times. I was fine with haveing 50 corruption from 15lvl cloak and 10 from new essense, but not with infinite weekly logging in for+3 resistance up to 125 till the last day of expansion. And this goes on top of the neck power grind, trying to get azerite pieces, essenses and triple RNG layers on gear(forging was less painfull thing compared to new corrupted stuff). PvP gonna be dead completely after 2 month of patch for sure.

Besides the whole shietshow with the rng stats and gearing you have to keep in mind that you have to play pve in pvp now because of the negative effects from the Corruption Gear. Random ~60%+ slows all the time(dont need a dk now because blizz slows you all the time lmao), random voidzones which will kill you if you don’t move out, npcs which fixiate you and kill you if they reach, increased damage taken and healingreduce. All this shiet will be a mess in arenas, bgs except maybe the increased damage taken and healingreduce.

Screw retail. I rarelly log on. When I want to play wow I play on a PRIVATE SERVER where I have lots of fun.
Retail became so boring thanks to actilizzard and their laziness.

Corruptforge will kill pvp in 8.3(like if it wasnt already dead lol). RNG farming good buffs on items will be horrible, every pvp player just hate spamming same mythic+ dungeon for your bis gear now imagine spamming for bis gear and bis buff on that gear.
Like we couldnt expect nothing much with this patch again new op trinkets, new op pve gear, same meta. But corruptforge is gamebreaking its just lottery machine that will push you to farm more and more.
Also its just too big advantage if you are lucky on rng corrupt buffs and someone is not.

I think again the problem is not the system itself but the way you acquire the gear (rng), this system was the first system since WoD launched that sparked my interest and made me research more/think about possibilities (especially with that health% dmg thing).
I haven’t been playing this game since BfA Season 1 and if it wasn’t for this system, I wouldn’t have resubscribed.
people often forget that addons that had a much more healthier PvP scene were sometimes really unbalanced too like WoltK,Cata and MoP but they still were way more fun to play than expansions which were on the more balanced side like WoD or Legion.
balance ≠ fun

if we had a vendor to buy this gear from it would be a really good system in my opinion.

I feel your pain! I use to love this game and only do PvP. I still log on as I like my characters but I just can’t get into PvP as now I am forced to do mythic dungeons to gear up for PvP???
I use to have WOW PvP friends and we would run RBGs, arenas for cap and arenas for fun or team up and fool around with world PvP for fun and laughs BUT then the Blizz Fck Yu PvPers mentality kicked in and first they removed PvP gear by making it exactly the same as PvE gear and then they removed PvP vendors by forcing you to do dungeons and raids to gear up for PvP!!! WTF?? I would love to see how the PvE community would react if they were forced to do arenas to be able to gear up for PvE instances! Since this BS came into play i totally LOATH Blizzard developers and their totally narcissistic arrogant asinine behaviour towards the WOW PvP community. All my PvP friends and fun is gone because of WOW design changes to PvP. All the PvP guilds I used to know are dead!

Corrupted items in arena are completely broken.
Echoing void doing top damage for players.
Stars doing top damage for players.
Getting bursted by passive dps through defensive cooldowns.
Good job blizzard I’m actually laughing my way closer to unsubbing at this point.
