So by the end of Week 1. I have managed to gather over 11k Cosmic Flux, without even trying to farm it. This would probably cover all the cosmic flux I would even need for 4 pieces of Tier set and eventually upgrading my Legendary (I might need a little more).
So why do I need to wait until week 8 before I can use it?
You don’t. You’ll be able to use it on week 5 to buy the belt and craft a legendary.
And before you ask why you have to wait 5 weeks: because otherwise people would get 4-piece tier on day one. Or they’d have to make the currency capped one way or the other, which would suck royally.
I’d rather have the Tier sets tbh. They can keep and remove the legendaries.
But why would they hand out so much flux if we can’t use it? It sucks more having it and not being able to use it. Might aswell make it more scarce or cap it.
Or just let us craft our tier sets off the bat.
I only really want to play long enough to get KSM. I’ll have it before I even get 1 Tier piece. What’s the fun in that?
So that everyone has plenty of it, without grinding. So that someone who doesn’t do ZM daily (or at all, apart from the campaign) will still have enough to craft a legendary. So that alts can do a couple of keys, or Gauntlet runs, and have the currency.
They made an alt friendly currency, for once.
Yeah, no, thanks. That’d trivialise most content in the game, having 4-5 BiS pieces right off the bat. That’s like 1/3 of our entire gear right there!
Then ignore flux. KSM is doable in 2 weeks once the season starts, so you can just hide the currency and not care. You can go to your currency tab, click on flux, and tick the “Unused” box. Done!
But why haven’t they tuned the content around the gear?
If KSM is achievable in 2 weeks (which is when I’m planning to have it completed myself), then why have they made KSM too easy? I thought they wanted to keep us subbed. Surely, making KSM last the length of the gearing process would make the most sense.
You are right. There’s no point having 4 pieces from the word go. But for a non-raider like myself, I won’t be seeing a piece until week 8, unless the great vault is nice to me (as if lol).
Surely they could just cap the Creation Catalyst for the first few weeks, to allow non raiders to keep up.
They tuned it around a reasonable gear progression path. Getting 1/3 BiS on day one is not reasonable.
It’s easy for those who run keys. The majority of the player base doesn’t, not at the KSM level. They made KSM achievable by a large part of the player base, rather than keeping it for the top 1%. That’s what Keystone Hero is for.
No, not with Valor upgrades being tied to it.
I think it makes sense that people who do all kinds of content will gear faster, as long as those who only take part in some (like M+, but not raid) will get their tier too, just at a slower pace. The more you do, the faster you gear. That’s fair.
(For the record, I don’t raid, and I don’t do rated pvp either. I run keys.)
See above. Non-raiders will eventually be able to catch up (mostly, there’s still the ilevel difference of the last 3 bosses and raid-exclusive loot, sigh), but people who do more content, will gear faster. I don’t see a problem with that.
We are probably all going to have stockpiles of the stuff by the time we can use it. Just be glad it’s not something we have to carry around in our bags.
