There is always a lack of tanks, but the class is locked behind bloated rotations and painful APM, along with all the mechanics its juts too much of a pita to play, tried to find something I would enjoy playing, but there is nothing. gaming should be enjoyable not a chore.
I would maybe say outlaw rogue is rough for people who dont like rly high apm.
However, id say most tanks are pretty normal apm wise lol.
60 APM is the slowest and that is borderline highest im willing to try depending on ability bloat and how good the rotation is designed taking into account how many keybinds there are available
Wouldnt rly call it button bloat we are still no where close to what we were running in MoP. 5 buttons and a few defensives arent rly large.
Also maybe by sim but in reality i doubt anyones producing a rotation thats working faster then 1 second per ability. Given the GCD.
And i doubt its compulsory you performed to the same level as AI in terms of ur rotation.
there are off gcd abilities, prot are at 74 and 76 apm for example
Number of base skills is ok, but there are too many mandatory skills in talent tree that dont have reasonable passive alternatives.
in a tab target game, its the only staple it has to actually make WoW feel like a game… passives would make the game a cinematic.
there are enough base skills not to force some lazily designed trash skills that feel bad to use on players
theres no such thing as base skills really anymore, their all from the talent tree.
and not lazilyh or trash either.
one of the best things DF really brought.
This is hunter forum not tank forum move your thread somewhere else.
Oh no not you again .
Just go play classic already…
Also, you are posting on the hunter subsection…
yeah didnt notice draft saved hunter section despite being in general section of forum, looks like could edit
many things in retail are much better, just class design focuses too much of competitive play instead of fun.
Really strange hearing that from a person who plays WotLK Shaman. Your class had more abilities to press at 50lvl than any DF tank now.
issue isnt total number, but buttons you have to press often on top of movement, in DF there is simply too much happening and doing chain dungeon runs is physically painful and tracking so many things gets annoying. They designed it for competitive setting or having a single active dungeon run instead of playing with a group of friends for several hours.
ele and resto in wotlk was quite chill
The reason behind
is not
.
In fact there are plenty of tanks in this game. They just won’t tank for you. Not because they feel more special than you or other players/roles.
I dont pug, we mostly do m+, in Legion I was tank on alt, in Shadowlands I was main tank for our group started with Paladin, then hand pain and kiting forced me to change and switched to DH, usually there were 2 to 4 tanks in our group, mostly alts but still played. in DF only one of us tanks and doesnt seem like hes enjoying it. I have looked over all tanks except druid, as i dislike that class with shapeshifting, i dont feel like i would enjoy playing any of them all are bloated and too fast.
No, either get good or dont play a tank.
Tortollan tank. You just sit in your shell and mitigate damage passively.
Prot pala is the easiest class ingame to play with 3-4 interrupts lmao. The rotation is very smooth, nothing to complain.
60 apm is nothing dude.
If you can’t follow a rotation that has 60 apm, you either have some legit physical problems, not even being offensive, if you can’t do 1 action per second you probably have some joint issues, or carpal tunnel or something else.
Or it’s a learn to play issue and you need to learn the location of your keyboard’s buttons.
The only real way to reduce apm for some specs would be to give them downtime, which means you press nothing, and that is extremely boring.
there are quite a few ways already existing in game that can do it cast times/channeled skills like dh eyes. also base gcd is 1.5 so that is already below 60 movement increases apm by a lot.
I can follow fast rotation, but not for multiple dungeon runs, i have some slight issues with finger pain but only happens on wow when playing for extended time on classes above ~60 apm, depending on rotation. in shadowlands i could play VDH fine, but i dont like the DF version of it added too many abilities. Probably what 20+ years of daily gaming does.
