Could You Play WoW Without Addons?

I use some simple addons, like bartender4,dbm, addibags, Weak aura’s for rotation that i plug in and i keep it at that. Doesn’t take a lot of time and its all i need.

Depends- got a fair few installed but only use a few, mainly achievements trackers, DBM and Pawn. Disabled Rio and the rest until they are needed in SL.

The only reason I’m using add-ons is because basic Ui just sucks so hard.

Doing Mythic Azshara without add-ons was an awful experience. Obviously, you don’t need add-ons to complete LFR, but some Mythic bosses are just awful without.

I use basically no addons since MoP. I say ‘basically’ because I am using an addon that shows abilities of enemy pets in pet battles. That’s it.

It’s completely fine. The stock UI is very clean and keeps getting better and richer with every expansion.

Only add on I use is one that marks the kegs in that silly Kirin Tor WQ where you have to pick one of them after they’ve moved about.

Apart from that I’ve not really felt any need to use any other add ons.

The basic party frames look like this. I have/had no clue how to heal like that. Had to install a UI addon.

Also for healing classes something like Clique for mousovers. It is just needed.

Weakling! I didn’t use any addons even for that Ogri’la daily where you click crystals in sequence, producing a melody.

You can convert party frames to raid frames (rectangular boxes), that’s been possible for many years.

No. I admire people that can, especially at higher levels of gameplay, though I think it’s extremely rare to see this. I had a guildie that didn’t use addons because he was afraid of them containing malware, and up to Ra-den it was doable, though he constantly missed information and messed up tactics due to not having addons. We had to kick him from the raid team because he refused to use ERT at Ra-den.

I don’t really need most addons, they are just a massive quality of life improvement. I can understand you don’t want to use them, but it’s really just hindering yourself.

Ok, that is nice Didnt know that back then. Or it was not possible when i started. Can they also be moved? since they were on the top left of my wide screen. When i installed elvUI i never went back

I know they can be docked to either left or right, not sure about dragging them around because I was always using them docked, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they can be dragged as well.

I barely use any addons. Auctioneer used to be a must-have, but not anymore. After the pre-patch I think I have only updated and using recount (no use for me really) and Deadly Boss Mod, also pretty useless for me now. I could easily live without those I currently use

Well, I can say this.

I play FFXIV When im burned out from WoW, or is just bored with WoW Overall.

That game does not allow Addons(Mods)
You can use Mods and Addons, but its against the ToS
Let me show you an Example.

You can use a Damage meter, but if you were to tell peoples about the damage from the Addon / Mod, you’re breaking the Rules as you can’t know others dmg without using the Meter.

So you can’t tell them if they do bad damage.
You can use it to see for yourself, just not talk about it.

Im like 20 Levels away from Max Lvl, And running Dungeons in FFXIV feels way different compare to WoW, and its not because of the Playstyle.

Why? you may ask.
Because WoW uses Addons, as its not against the TOS.
So alot of groups i’ve been in atleast have been heavily based out of the DMG meter.
Low DPS? = Vote to KICK
Sadly this happens most to NEW Players.

Peoples are heavily relying on Raider IO for M+s
(When Raider IO could have been boosted up)

So why am i comparing WoW and FFXIV?.
Because Overall the dungeons in FFXIV feels way more Welcoming / Friendly Pretty much overall more " Healthy "
And less toxic without any addons.

So to your Question OP.

Could i play WoW without AddOns?

Absolutely.

I only use like 3 addons as is.
DBM - ALL THE THINGS - Rarity.
