First there were bugged characters who couldn’t send a functioning link in specific chat or through whisper to others. Instead of a clickable item, you would send a wall of gibberish text. A workaround for this was OBIMOUNT addon.
Since patch the bug for affected characters (wasn’t account wide issue) has been somewhat corrected, but now all mount links whispered from all my characters links remain in form of [example mount] which cannot be clicked or previewed by holding ctrl, not by myself or anyone else who can see it.
All my characters are bugged in the same new way now. I can send working links to /say but not in /guild. When my friends link mounts to me, they cannot be opened either.
Pet and toy links work just fine. When I try using an addon to attach item icons to links it functions as intended for pets, spells and toys, but for mounts it always shows a questionmark icon (?).
The tooltip item icon addon is unrelated to the bug, it just helps you see how broken the links are. The links do not seem to contain tooltip and other information at all. It’s not just a problem with handful of mounts which are personally customizable at the rostrum, but even the generic ones that display an identical model for everyone.

Chat is set to MAKE INTERACTIVE so it makes no sense why only mount links are broken.
I just tried in game and mine works so that is curious. Is it specific mounts or just any mount?
Support would probably suggest resetting your Interface
I, and a few others in my guild, had this issue, and it was related to an addon called Identity, which allows you to set a nickname which will show in chat just after your character name (we use it to identify when someone is on an alt). Check to see if you have that addon, or any other addon that might be related to chat?
To be specific, mount links in whispers through real-id are broken.
Also last night on my character who was previously bugged (gibberish text instead of working link) couldn’t even send a mount link into guild chat. As I would press enter key, it would not register the message until I removed the link.
Today I woke up and my entire guild is “dead”. Showing zero achievements while rewards, info and roster tab are showing completely empty. Attempting to use guild chat results in “no permission” error.
There’s 1000 members in it so I wouldn’t call it an isolated incident. It’s bricked for everyone.
Oh yeah … that sounds like a larger issue then. rushes to get in-game to see what new hell Blizzard have rained down on Guilds today
I can link in guild and click on it with ctrl to get the preview.
I didn’t notice it at the time but it turns out that the entire guild had been nuked. The name still stands but everything about it is broken so all of the features including chat and bank are out of function. Will be seeking further assistance with this elsewhere.

Good luck! Hope you get it sorted quickly. I panicked when you mentioned your guild issues and went to check my guild straight away, but luckily it was still working (albeit with the usual bugs.
PS … the forums themselves seem to be very buggy currently - took me several attempts to get that posted …
