Hiya, looking for some clarification on getting all of the collection items from the SL covenants.
My plan is to rotate four characters (covering all armour and weapon types) through the covenants for the unlocks but with the switching and skipping mechanics in place I’m not entirely sure what I actually need to go through for this.
Right now I’m slowly taking one character through the Court of Harvesters covenant.
When I get them to 80 renown, will I be able to rotate through the other covenants, buying the token to start at 60 renown and getting it up to maximum with non-story quests or do I have to do the full covenant campaign?
And then for the other appearances that I need the other classes for, do they have to all go through the same thing (one covenant campaign, reach 80 renown, switch covenants and start at 60 renown) or is that not all required?
So coming back to the plan mentioned earlier in this post, would it be best if I just start on the other covenant campaigns with the three other characters and start rotating when they’re all at 80 or should I wait until I finish the Court of Harvesters with one and then use some skipping mechanics with my alts to get all the appearances?
EDIT: I did read that the token can be purchased by any character after getting the 80 renown achievement so I guess the whole post should be boiled down to if the covenant campaigns need to be done/repeated after getting said achievement.
My recollection is that when you get a character to 80 Renown, you can switch, and buy the boost to 60 on another Covenant. At that point, I think the fastest way to gain Renown will be to do the Covenant Campaign quests, since they will be very simple, and give excess Renown.
Further, remember that for each Covenant, there are FOUR appearance sets, for Campaign, Renown, and two tied to the specific Covenant. Renown 80 will get you the Renown one, but you have to complete the Campaign and the other activities to get the other three. AFAIR, they are recolours of each other, but if you are going for completionism, you need to decide about them.
Ah, I did not do research into cosmetics possibly being tied to anything but renown itself. From what you’re saying it sounds like I should reconsider my approach here as skipping (most of) the renown grind per covenant (and per character) instead of skipping the covenant campaign quests.
I suppose then I can really just go ahead with my plan of getting 80 renown on the Court with my main and then doing the other campaigns with each character but with less renown grinding.
Excellent! Thank you! :K
EDIT: Probably the thing that’ll cause more of a headache, if any, is getting the anima to unlock everything. Hehe.
as a sample of what is available for one Covenant.
Anima is plentiful in Zereth Mortis. And it can be transferred between characters, which helps.
Also, Mission Tables give a lot of passive Anima, and there is a trick to get to blowing the missions away without spending time levelling followers. I’ve written about it somewhere. It involves choosing only ONE follower when you start each Covenant, and then use ALL the boost tokens you get as you gain Renown on that one follower, BEFORE choosing your second soulbind.
