I am confused about which covenant I should stick to. I have currently picked the Night Fae as suggested by Icy Veins as a trade-off between raiding and doing M+ but I feel like this covenant is not necessarily for Monks. Wowhead suggests Kyrian. As I am still levelling and am 56 when writing it, it feels this is the best time to pick something else. I am not fixated on one role nor am I going to do pure PvE or PvP. Which covenant would you suggest?
Thanks
EDIT. I just read one of the posts and it seems Kyrian is by far the best covenant. Before picking one, I would like to make sure than Kyrian is also good for healing and tanking.
Kyrian definitely gives more DPS. Night fae is definitely more fun tho. So it depends, if you plan to play high-end content, go Kyrian. If you are a more casual player, night fae is fine.
I main MW and chose Kyrian for player power. Luckily I really like the mog and environment visuals too
The 2 minute cooldown pairs with your celestials in any spec, beefing them up a notch, and is additionally good for MW because of the reset on Essence Font. For WW and BM, it’s a simple mastery boost, but both masteries are good and it will make a difference.
It is however… kind of boring. It’s just another cooldown that you’ll only use in instances, not like a purple fox form or teleport which you’ll use everywhere.
My guild’s WW monk went Night Fae for the play style. He knew how to top the meters before WW was generally topping the meters, so I trust his judgement that NF are entirely viable if you have a preference for them.
Fair warning: Kyrian mission table game is weak AF. If you are actually interested in that, then NF is an even stronger contender.
Kyrian and NF are super close, the main reason kyrian pulls ahead is due to the invokes delight legendary until you craft that there is nearly nothing in it dps wise and even after unless you squeeze (min max) everything you won’t notice anything big.
Two things to note if you go into the nitty gritty:
Kyrian is Best in slot for single target, so raiding
night fae is best in slot for aoe (mythic +) there is also a 12% haste buff on fae line late into the tree which could put it on par and/or better than kyrian
For pvp go kyrian.
So for balanced pve gameplay go night fae
For raiding focused go kyrian
For pvp focus go kyrian
For pve and pvp focus go kyrian
At the end both of these covenents are actually fantastic for WW and Brew so take what you enjoy the most.
Bare in mind kyrian is more advanced its not fire and forget you need to squeeze out as many RSKs without breaking mastery/hit combo to squeeze out the best it has to offer.
I’m night fae as I like the blink and later on the stun on the blink in pvp with night fae I think could be super powerful also NF do not fall behind in single target either really not to a you muat care about margin
P. S. Night fae is broken in torghaat it shreds in comparison my hunter this dude is kyrian and boring as hell in torghaast
The reason kyrian is so strong right now is because alot of bosses in castle nathria have burn phases. Meaning that there are moments the bosses take extra damage or spawn alot of adds. You simply get more value out of a longer more powerful cd in fights like that.
Also shriekwing has a phase where he’s immune to damage. This means your cds are ticking down during this period. That’s why kyrian performs so much better on these fights.
In m+ I really like NF, it makes it easier to keep your mastery going and it’s a fun spell to use. I just wish it did a little bit more damage. It accounts for like 4-5% of my damage in an average m+. Which isn’t all that great for a covenant ability.
Necrolord is best for raiding because of Emeni. All of our covenants are very close, but Necrolord is a bit above the rest because of the permanent int buff from your Soulbind. At the end of the day, you can pick any of them and be just fine in both raids and m+.
If your focus is both raiding and m+, then Kyrian is the play. However, if you are only focused on raiding then Necrolord is best assuming you can use Bonedust Brew correctly. But like I said, the difference is extremely small.
