I think it would work perfectly fine if everything would drop regardless of covenant.
At least in DF we aren’t being tied in to any one dragon aspect, this system in SL did not work well at all.

Queen’s Conservatory might be the most boring one but it’s also the least annoying one, needs the least time invested to get everything.
Path of Ascension isn’t too bad a grind since 9.1 I believe, but it’s still vehicle fights that suck in general, are badly balanced (or due to bugs even impossible), need cheese strategies etc. etc. … horrible to do it once (and I still haven’t completed it) and utter terror to do several times to actually get all armor types, because for some reason the achivement can’t count for the whole account.
Stitchyard is once again a grindfest, but at least quick to get the rep, although it shouldn’t be timegated by the weekly quests - probably the mini game I’d enjoy the most if the flesh would drop more often. Heard to get the mog is horrible too, but thankfully Necrolord sets are so ugly I don’t care about that.
Ember Court seems to be the worst of all in terms of time investment… lots of quests to do in preparation of the actual event, your forced to do the covenant campaign on the char again because otherwise you don’t “know” the guests. And the rep is also only slowly increasing.
All in all: mostly the mini games are annoying, because you aren’t actually playing your character / WoW but something else. I just do them for the mogs, but definitely not for fun… and having to do it several times for different armor types just sucks.
PS: it’s also weird how the requirements to get the mog set differ between the games, garden - just have it upgraded, pay the anima; PoA - do all those crazy achievements and play it to the hardest mode; Stitchyard - can’t buy the set, needs luck to drop; Court - get the rep… yeah, so some are easy to get and some impossible / annoying, not very balanced.
You mean the system that players told them in beta was a horrible, horrible system, please don’t go live with this mess?
Who’da thunk…?
I really really enjoyed the Kirian one it was the most interesting one and definitely the most interactive of them all. I ditched the ember court party scenario it was cheesy. Ditched Necro stitch masters did not feel like running around the planet looking for nothing interesting. NF garden was ok it was just really “farmville” on a over extended clock, but a good source for free mats.
I didnt really touch any of it, no matter which covenant.
Although i am always collecting mounts and working to get more.
But all these mini games offering those rewards didnt get me going at all.
Its too tedious or just plain boring to play.
My major criticism with Path is the transmog unlocking, no way on gods green earth am i doin humility as all soulbinds on 4 different characters. until the transmog unlock becomes account wide by just finishing the achievement i’m not even bothering.
120 runs and that’s just doing humility, you have to also unlock the path which is a pain in and of itself.
the word i hear about the pathi is “pain”. not a good advertising!
It’s almost as if they had loads of feedback about that system!
Thank you!
I love Ember Court, complex and the journey to discover the decorations and stuffs and figuring out how to work was awesome
But just my two cent, i’m biased I guess, but in my humble oppinion totally worth it!
no no thank to you. i clearly remembered your post so now that i have time ingame i found it and im playin EC (and MXX one) using your guide. Done first court and lookin forward.
Thanks again!
Once you understand that the guests have to be invited in certain combinations with certain sets ups it became very easy.
They also improved much with the minigames you have to perform during the party, and you can buy things to extend the running time. This makes doing certain achievements easier.
Not everyone likes the same things but I enjoyed the Venthyr event, I alwayas looked forward to doing my Ember Court every week.
The event itself is fun, doing the same daily 100 times just for preparation is not.
I didn’t have to go out of my way to do anything specific. I always had enough rubies for stuff, just doing my weekly quests, callings etc.
I imagine it depends on how you play the game. If you don’t touch any of that content normally then you will have to go out of your way to do it.
Doing the same rsvp quests every week is something u have to do.
Oh you meant those, until you get enough reputation yes, but it’s only four RSVPs a week.
It does at least look like DF is much better in that regard Maybe Shadowlands’ player exodus finally proved that there is a limit to the make-you-play and FOMO systems people will tolerate.
Oh yes, I was very pleased to see we wont be tied to any specific dragon aspect, that renown just goes to 30 (I believe) and we can just get rewards without having to jump through silly hoopes.
And ofc the biggest benefit is the lack of borrowed power that tied us in to specific covenants to be able to perform.
it wont be worse than fishing coins from dalaran fountain!
I’ve tried all of them, and as a super-casual, this is how I rank them in terms of how much I liked them.
The queens conservatory was (to me) the most boring one that I didn’t enjoy doing at all.
Path of Ascension felt abit meh, and the stuff needed to craft was a bit confusing without an addon keeping track.
Abomination Factory was a little more fun. Once you have a bunch of them unlocked there are a loot of weeklies to do. I actually didn’t mind that, and the abominations themselves also offered a little bit of utility.
Ember Court definitely took the longest to unlock everything and “grinding” the reputation which each of them. Especially since you’re limited to a few guests pr week. But I actually enjoyed that very much. The events felt fun, and upgrading the court piece by piece also felt rewarding.
i have to say i gave up with the others because activities like the conservatory destroy my sense of fun.
Doin nothin and havin mounts and pets comin from above is somethin like i hate (except if is the slime cat mount).
But playin the mxx and ven ones is (by now) quite fun.
We’ll see if after my holiday ill continue
