With the crafting overhaul the majority of crafts that bear the promise of a profit has been moved over to work orders instead (with notable exceptions like JC).
Advertising your craft and socializing are an important part of crafting now, atleast with professions which craft arms and armor.
BoE craftable gear is only really there to give you a bump so you can start doing content/catch up content.
