Crafting items with sparks on alts to 421

So I made a new alt and crafted 5 items to 395 with old sparks, how are we not able anymore to upgrade to 421 but instead now have to wait for the new spark system in order to upgrade it to the new levels instantly?.

Do they want us to just use the new gear or what, i would love to just upgrade my lariat to 421 but that doesnt seem to be implemented instead you have to wait for new sparks and are stuck with 395 gear on those items now??, seems very weird game mechanic to me that if you create a new char now you are basicly waiting all over again for all new sparks.

you can upgrade them I’m sure you just need to swap out the old spark for the new spark

the answer is probably because we’re like 2 weeks into 10.1 and just like blizzard didn’t give us 5 old sparks in week 2 of launch they’re not gonna give us 5 new sparks in the first 2 weeks of the new patch.
