The power to determine what stats you’ll get seems pretty massive honestly
other then that I agree with the OP, the only thing I’ve used crafting orders for is me and my guildies making work orders for the cheapest craftable things to complete the weekly
Because I put my mats there, and the money there… and waited… and waited… and waited… and I got my mats back in the mail… I put them back there… and waited… and waited… and waited…
THEN after 3 times I didn’t get my order… I sold the mats at the AH and I gave up the system. Fork it! I’ll try my chances in M+.
So you know how to use it!
Maybe your fee was too low? I paid like 10k for mats and 2.5k fee for Illusion Primal fire. Got it delivered in few hours.
I sometimes craft low ilvl entry blue gear as crafting orders, I put like 100-200g / pc. I find it reasonable for a very low level recipe.
As for better recipes - I usually find a crafter and offer them 2-5k (depends on item).
Once a crafter asked 40k for the craft, I said no. He got mad 
I don’t know how it works… AFTER 3 TIMES I was questioning myself. what is a fee? why is it too low? which one is a good one? who is going to make it? how is going to make it? was it right? was it wrong? missing mats? Should i have put better quality ones? maybe adding an extra?

How do you know what price you need to place on AH for specific item?

When you do crafting order the fee starting is 2000 gold. Should I go with that then?
Thats jsut the fee’s if you buy mats on AH afaik
Try going with that fee.
You can always spam something like WTB / WTT(not sure about that one) @the item you want.
Crafters usually whisper you if they can craft it.
That’s what I did… hoping I was doing the right thing. I bought all the mats 3 stars, the missive with haste and crit, then I added the ball or something, plus 10k… I hoped it was the right thing, but after 3 times I just gave up and sold everything back to the AH at lower price that I payed.

Nah, the system itself isn’t the fail. The fail is that nobody uses it. Solution: give it more time, and blizzard needs to highlight it more in-game. Maybe a tutorial in the campaign would have been smart

You do the orders, since you’re an expert in that.
Maybe add a NPC order as well. You put all the mats + the ball + the fee and NPC creates for you.
If you want it crafted by people you pay more with no mats.
If you can’t deposit a craft order, well. Good luck in m+
