Crafting Orders are a failure

The crafting order system really does feel backwards, in most MMOs you usually hear of them moving away from an order based bartering system to a centralised trading hub, like runescape going from shouting at varrock square to having the g.e.

WoW has always had that though, so i guess they felt the need to go backwards and introduce a bartering post when we already have a perfectly functioning and efficient trading hub in the AH.

I agree Blizzard failed to deliver any tutorial to crafting orders and professions, but I strongly disagree that either of those are failures.

It’s actually a very great idea the system orders… bad executed though.
They should give the NPC crafting as well.
For example: you provide the mats you farmed, the sparks you farmed, the matrixes you farmed (In raids, In M+, etc…) and then with a small fee a NPC would create it for you.
Don’t have the mats? NO PROBS. You put more money, a fellow player comes with HIS mats, HIS matrixes, HIS sparks. He sees the fee, deemed too low, send you an update “I want more gold”. You read that, increase the fee, he makes the stuff.
Job done. You leave with an item and happy face.
The crafter leaves richer and less mats in his bags…
Everybody is happy.

But the orders are for BoP items. Nothing common with the AH.

There is nothing inherent about these crafted items that require them be BoP beyond them trying to force the trading post.

They could just as well be boe and sold on the AH.

Exept that they’re craftable in 418. So basically if they would be available on the AH, first week of the season you would be in a full gear. Sounds pretty stupid.

The only way they would be full gear if they would be split raiiding mythic raid… do you realyl think people will do that?

M+ drops the upgrade essences as well.

There shoudlnt be Any need for whispers. The moment you need to wshiper someone system is a failure. If Blizzard cannot make the ui Simple and casual friendly then they fail as designera and should be fired. Its almost 2023 there is 0 excuse for customer unfirnely ui or system in nowadays games.

Reality is they destoroyed proffesions and next expansion they will have to rebuild crafting from 0 because it simply doesnt work in its current form

I also don’t really understand what to do. Plus I just don’t have needed mats so I don’t bother.

Well, I guess they could do that, but you wouldn’t make much gold because you’d have to use your own sparks of ingenuity. That means you’d have max 3 items to sell up to now.

agree 100% on this one let us use the AH and let the market play.

I find the system technically as not a bad idea, but the execution could be better. There are zero public orders at all times on my “full” server, so obviously that doesn’t work. I have zero interest in whispering and hanging in the capital.

I did put out the public order for the lariat with 1k fee and got it made, but what I don’t understand anymore is how to upgrade it further, or if it’s even possible. It’s a 386 ilvl neck with quality of 3 stars, but the game never tells you if you can do anything with it.

Problem with crafting orders is that you can only use 2 pieces of crafted gear if I understand correctly.

Someone was asking for 50,000 tips for gear hahaha & many buy

Oh so you can get BoP crafted items through work orders I had no idea. Yeah I’d prefer they just let us do that on the AH instead of having a separate system for it.

end of the day, its not really a failure of a system, its just that blizzard didn’t think of making a tutorial on how to use it on the get go.

Because i was so confused with this gearing up level system i was lucky enough to get help from a friend player.

I put order in for 2 essential items that mean that i have a fare chance at pvp. I put them both in at 5,000 gold which is double the amount he advised me on.

No one is interested in crafting the items.

I managed to work out how the crafting system works. The problem is knowing what items i need to make. Without my friend i would be none the wiser. Which i feel makes the game play rather unfair.

That’s because nobody really cares about crafting gear.

Why spend tens thousands of gold on mats when you can just farm m+

Its compeltly failed system .

Maybe if gear costed liek 5k gold max peopel woudl be interested but its just waste of gold on most cases

I find the crafting system a bit redundant. I’ve seen it used a few times for gems or enchants but not a lot for gear - and anything I have seen sits there for days because no one wants to do it. Blizzard are trying hard to make the game more interactive again but with most WoW players adopting a “me, myself and I” approach over the years, it might be too late to encourage a culture shift now.
