hello, I have noticed that possibly from after the 8th week will come a function in which we can craft the „tier sets“ themselves, that is we give our item and flux then we get the same item with tier set bonus.
I have a question in PTR it said „Insert a Season 3 Item from m+, pvp and Raid“ and now „Great Vault“ doesn’t count? can’t I convert the 278 item from „Great Vault“ to tier set?
That would be really bad if that was the case.
I’m already put off participating in content at the moment. I think this would probably just push me away altogether.
This whole Tier Set thing has been a complete mess.
Great Vault isn’t a source of different/unique loot that’s why it’s not included, those piece that you pick from the Vault are Raid/M+/PvP loot.
So they count.
that means, we cant conver to the tier set, which (278ilvl) we get from GV, right?only if we get it from m+ and upgrade to 272, this can we covnert it to tier set
They are still S3 pieces.
If you loot a 278 bis chest that come from a dungeon, even if you looted the piece itself from the Vault, the source of that piece is still M+ and thus you can convert it.
Proof of that is that a 278 piece still has the 12/12 upgrade like any piece you can loot from M+ indicating that those are part of the S3 loot pool
ah but you cant look a 278 ilvl item from a dungeon, you can upgrade it to max. 272 and you can convert it to tier set. But you can only get 278ilvl item from the GV and the question ist, is it possible to convert it to a tier set

278 pieces are still M+ Season 3 items.
Great Vault is not specified because the loot that you pick there, it’s loot coming from Raid/M+/PvP Season 3, and thus saying it again would be redundant.
Unless Blizzard say otherwise loud and clear, there is no indication that 278 pieces would not be usable as tier set base items
okay, that means, I can grap the BIS hands from GV (278ilvl) and convert to set item, so i have better set item than hc. That means ppl dont need to clear hc raid because we can do a 278ilvl item from GV to a tier item.
Blizzard just threw the raid to the garbage after 4 weeks, how bad system is that? only better item than 278ilvl set is on Mythic raid… lol… isnt it bad? the whole raid, normal and heroic is meaningles to farm
No by the fourth week most bosses that drop tier sets are supposed to be on farm on HC. It is there to help people who do not have enough skill or time to get there by the fourth weeks.
It goes both ways, make raid non - meaningless for those non interested, and those that wanna play PvP/Mythic plus need to suck it up and have 4 slot of low ilvl or find a guild to do Mythic with.
okay but still the item which we convert, which we get from GV (278ilvl) will be better than the tier item from hc raid. Right? 
and only upgrade is on myhtic raid
You still need to wait another full month when they open catalyst to craft 4 pieces at 278 ilvl.
Plus, you actually need to find the 278 pieces before you convert them into the set, which might not be something that simple, because you might get duplicates, or no piece at all, or better pieces in the Vault.
y but i got already a 278 hands from GV, which i can craft to a set after 4 weeks…
or do i need anything else?
Yes but looting all 278 pieces is gonna be totally rng and it is not guaranteed that you will have a 278 piece to convert into set.
I started doing so from week 1,picked legs on w1, shoulders w2, then no relevant 278 “base” tier pieces w3 and w4 (picked OH and Boots).
And considering you can also loot 278 tier set from the Vault, maybe you get hands next week effectively wasting a potential 278 pick.
Yeah it’s a fantastic thing on paper but you get 3 choice a week to choose from, so might take longer than 272.

I already have helm and chest 278 which i will convert in 2 weeks starting, 1 per week initially.
So gratz, you already “almost” have a bis item.
