So, I had issues in the past with wow getting out of memory usually in valdrakken and ended up in crashing. I, since then, upgraded, now having 16gb ram. Sometimes tho, when I get into Valdrakken, despite de extra RAM, I still get crashes, wow gets out of memory the second I get into Valdrakken and it messes up with my system overall, really bad.
I have an AMD GPU if that is important, as I heard that amd isn’t too great for wow, but it is what it is.
Also graphics are like 5/10 without shadows or other things that can chomp a lot of memory.
Does this happen without any addons and settings reset (eg. remove/move WTF, Interface folders to somewher else)?
I am personally using AMD CPU + GPU at the moment with zero issues.
Yes, it happens without any addons as well. I think it might be a memory leak issue as usually this happens after the system has been on for a while. However, in task manager the WoW.exe usually goes to 5gb memory at max, even when it’s about to crash.
For some reasons, when it has to load a lot of stuff fast, it just gives up.
Same thing tends to happen sometimes when I change servers after an invite or when I change the warmode status.
ive just today noticed that wow eats up 20gigs of my ram when im in the primalist future. i closed wow and loaded it up again same issue. went to valdrakken and closed wow again loaded back in and it behaved normal (~6gig).
It happened for me when I changed system virtual memory to big amount. Make sure u have it enabled but system controlls its size.
