There seems to be a lot of inconsistency around where and how teleports etc are added to your character and stored.
On top of this, it really does eat into your bagspace which feels pretty bad when there is that level of inconsistency.
Here are some examples:
Hearthstone turned into toy
Dala+Garrison HS are not
Challenge modes added to spellbook
Engineering items added as toys
Jaina’s Pocket, Bladespire Relic, Admiral’s Compass and others added as items.
Other items like guild backs, Band of the Kirin Tor, Time-Lost Artifact etc are equipment…
Now I handle this pretty well after all this time and have added everything to Opie to make things easier, but it seems pretty unnecessarily difficult to have everything so displaced.
I would add all class teleports etc here too.
I doubt anybody would really object to creating a tab, turning any equipment that has an on-use effect into a learnable item (or an achievement etc which grants the teleport ability from it), taking toys away from that tab and incorportating it here etc.
More bagspace, more organisation, less requirement for addons, everyone is happy.
I approve this, it is sooo stupid that some items are considered “toys” whereas some junks, whether useful or not, are just there to waste your inventory space (pointing at you SL drums…)
Not only the teleporting ones. But every single one with actual useful effects.
Finding those heirloom flightpath maps is a pain if you cant remember the name. I don’t understand why the flightpath heirloom ones are not in the heirloom tab. Instead they are just buried among lots and lots of toys for some reason
actually a really good idea! Seperate the “wormhole” ones from the Toy tab… I see how this would be good, but then again, the vast majority of them are engineers only.
So mayhaps create a “Wormholes” tab in the professions tab then
You can remove the physical hearthstone from the bag and only use the toy after setting it somewhere new ^^ If you keep any sort of hearthstone it’s eating into your inventory now.
Glad to hear that this has received positive feedback as it’s been bugging me for a while.
Are there any other things that you all think are similar? Jeeves, blingtrons, mailbox, Reaves etc spring to mind.
I think toys should act like heirlooms. When they are unlocked on your account any character can create an item of it to keep in bags - of course without removing the possibility to use them straight from the toy box
Most pre-WoD teleportation items were turned into toys when they introduced those. Nowadays if they don’t want it to be account wide it isn’t a toy for the most part. Relic of Karabor and Bladespire Relic are most probably a leftover from development stages before Ashran was the expansion hub.
I guess the general idea was for people to wear those items and have teleports as added bonuses. Now they’re just items which you actually have to equip to teleport. You might actually have to wait 30 seconds before you can use them like with most items with a usable effect (I don’t really know, last time I used something like that was Blessed Medallion of Karabor a pretty long time ago).
If it’s really essential add it to your side bar? We have like what 72 slots? Surely you can spare a few for teleports.
Not really. I do have Shadowlands Worhmole keybound, but would much prefer to have it in my bag with my Hearthstones and Jaina’s Locket. I could use that keybind for something actually useful.
Why not just make the HS the main item you put on bars but you can have it slide to show the multitude of teleports? Different teleports on the inner side and outer side you can chose the animation for the teleport.
So basically like the mage teleport.
This isn’t an absolutely comprehensive list and doesn’t include all mage portals , only 1 hearthstone, no Atiesh, etc however:

Not being a mage, I have 56 of these available to me.
So if you were a veteran mage with all of these things and all of them plus portals were put onto a collections tab (18 slots per page), you would have 6 pages of content.
As a hunter without mage portals etc, I would need 4 pages.
I hope this helps to demonstate how spread out these are and just how many are actually available.
