I don’t really know the reason behind this insane 8 weeks gating behind the creation catalyst. Some people already have the 4 piece set bonus while a lot already have 2 piece set bonus. Even if today you unlock this feature, because of the 1 energy per week you still cannot catch up for another 4 weeks. From what i read this feature unlocks on 12th april, so basicly if you get unlucky with vault drops you have to wait like 8 more weeks from now. Why ? Who is this designed for ? The tier sets are one of the main features of this patch yet we can only acces it based on LUCK. Legendary i can understand it being locked behind reputation and/or campaign, but the tier sets have no reason for such an extended delay. This is the first i post on this forum and i hope this message will be read, however i doubt it will make a difference.

The whiners that acted like tier sets would make WoW good again on a whim, go thank those people, there they have the good game now.
Tier sets were always RNG outside of guild or ML runs with reserved tokens, but hey you can’t even do ML reserved because the community was so happy that they removed ML, because “muh luuut is mine and 1 times I was loot banned as a trial in a guild urrrrrdurrr”
If anything, be thankful Blizzard expanded to M+/PvP players the chance to get tier set at higher ilvl. If tier sets came back old form i would have to keep farming HC and keep 4 subpar pieces because I don’t wanna raid mythic.
At least I know that I will be able to obtain the 4p at max ilvl, even if at a slower pace.
Yeah… I’m super grateful as a PvPer… Not a single slot yet that can even be turned into a tier piece with that creation catalyst, from the vault. Not to mention no tier piece whatsoever.
PvE gear has no business being good in PvP. Ever. PvP gear should be best in PvP, the same way PvE gear should be best in PvE. It’s dumb af to think they should be intertwined, it’s creating huge differences between players that got lucky compared to players that didn’t get lucky.
It’s also pushing PvPers into PvE, which just drives away people who wants to only play one part of the game, which should obviously be their freedom to do, but no, big daddy Ion wants to squeeze those engagement metrics juices as much as possible even when it drives away the consumers from the product. Cuz a couple of tokens counts as another consumer in terms of profit, so net bookings are making up for the loss of players.
And of course, the scandals covers up the lowered quality in game design overall, since they just blame the scandals for the loss of players.
Well honestly pvp is something I don’t play so I don’t really wanna suggest things of something I don’t play.
But if the sets source was raid only, it was going to be way way worse than this.
The problem isn’t the way they’re obtained. It’s just a superficial layer in the system. The core problem is that PvE gear is good in PvP. Scaling down all PvE gear down to lowest rank of honor gear, REMOVING the f’ing ranks by the way, and make the PvP gear scale up to much higher in PvP, and et voilà. Much better QoL for all PvPers that way, and PvEers won’t ever need to buy boosts in PvP for gear like that, since it won’t be good in PvE.
Hah I wanted to rant about catalyst as well but then I realized it’s pointless.
It sucks cause you see people with 4p now in keys and in raid and you simply cant compete with them.

both lock and hunter had 4p set bonus. GL keeping up with them. If I dont get set soon I won’t get into any groups :~) Catalyst should be already in the game since it’s only 1 upgrade a week.

Our guild has only cleared 7/11 so we we only get 2 chances each week ATM until we get stronger and better At the raid
Each week iv had 7/9 slots unlocked in vault and NADA
A lucky guild mate did one +3 mythic plus and got from vault then did the raid after missing first week and got another then a 3rd on vault again
He’s barely online and has 3/4 and iv no lifed it as much as I can and I’m on 1/4 lol

There was luck involved and then I needed to have the DKP saved up to be able to get it…
I really think way too many players are just too entitled nowadays; blaming the game instead of their lack of patience.
Not PvP sets. Yet PvP has been dragged into this mess, for no good reason. It’s even more disadvantaged than PvEers, in the chase for tier pieces. Gotta love that, right?

First of all this isn’t 2005 and second if you would have read my entire post this isn’t even about patience. What i was trying to say is even if they unlock creation catalyst today or next week you still have to wait around 4 weeks based on chance before getting full set, so who is getting hurt by this ? Are you personally going to get hurt if they unlock it sooner than 12 april ? I am genuinly curious.
Tier sets are generally decent to great transmog.
That is enough reason for me for them to exist.
The problem lies in them being the missing piece to get a spec working optimally. This is fixed by the catalyst but only after the content is basically old at that point
Sorry, I can’t care about PvP.
What I will say though is the fact that I’ve been advocating for seperate progression for the various endgame activities, so that you’re never forced into content you don’t want to do.
Tell that to all the people who’ve been whining for the return of tier sets (a group of players that I don’t belong to, I might add).
Ahuh, not about patience at all. 
My example was just that; an example. My point was: Tier sets aquisition has ALWAYS been subject to luck. Always.

Well getting loot is rng. It sucks when you dont get it and its awesome when you do.
My only problem with tier sets is that raiders get extra chances for set tokens compared to m+ and pvp. I wonder when wow will stop treating non raiders as 2nd class subscribers.
