Hey there, as some of you may know I’m a very big fan of bard becoming a new class or spec or hero talent, so much so that outside of tinker I can’t think of what else could be a new addition to wow.
So I wanted to ask you all what new spec or class would you like to see in wow, and a basic rundown of how they would play like:
Bard, ranged/melee hybrid dps or support focusing on enchanting magic into their words and blade, buffing allies and using their shouts to do their aoe damage.
Stuff like that, I’d love to know what you’ve always wanted to see personally.
I don’t like new specs or classes. I know others love them.
I would rather get more race class combos, customisations etc than new specs/classes. It just throws everything out of balance so much. It’s not like they have a great track record at balancing either.
After Augmentation Evokers I really don’t want to see another support class like this that buffs other classes. I don’t think it’s been good for the game at all.
thats unfortunate, although I would love to get more fleshing out of things we have, I feel it’s important to keep bringing in new things in order for it not to get stale, ragrdless if its a new spec for an existing class or a new class entirely
I’m with Puny on this. I don’t feel that adding Augmentation was good for the game, or even for the Evoker class as the spec completely overshadows Devastation and, to a lesser degree, Preservation. It messed up the balance quite a bit and opened new cans of worms for probably not much gain.
If they switched from a 5-player format to a 6-player one, I would feel more positive about support specs, but I don’t see this happening. It would also create new problems and new balance issues.
I loved playing bards in Ultima Online (they used music to provoke mobs to make them attack other mobs, had instruments to pacify mobs, could buff, etc, and they could also be tamers and even have dragons as minions!). I enjoy bards in D&D based games as well – also much like you describe: a melee/ranged hybrid, ideally with a handful of lesser spells, flitting around, buffing and debuffing, exploiting openings, filling holes.
I just don’t feel that it would fit well into how WoW has been working for all these years. Augmentation really is the closest to that playstyle, but I didn’t really click with it either. I try every once in a while, but I find the other two specs more engaging to play.
Yeah thats about same here, I really love everything about bards and mostly switch between bard and rouges and off cases like wow I play druids, but Aug simply focuses to much on the channel abilities thing and looks too weird for me.
I personally hat the design choice of making only dracthyr Evokers, i think it should’ve been like all other hero classes( a small handful of the base rases can use them) but instead we have to play them and I really hate doing that until they instroduce a way for me to stay in visage mode the whole time
