Credit card fraud suspicious

hi, downloaded the game today after more than half a year break, and wanting to get the 6 months sub. problem is when i tried to pay with my credit card, wich was used to pay before, i get an sms from my bank that the tranzaction is suspected of fraud…and they declined the payment.
can i get some help on this? could blizz site be duplicated by bad ppl? have to mention that i play on the same computer same card same internet connection as i did last year.

Contact your bank, confirm who you are and tell them to stop blocking it. Really, you think Blizzard can help you with your bank?

i did that, they said i can pay but they are not responsible for what can happen. i dint want to take the risk.
why this transaction was marked as fraud in the first place anyway?
posting here maybe i can find ppl with similar issues.

Stolen cards are used for stolen goldfarming accounts.

You can. they all say contact your bank and specifically ask them to allow payments to Blizzard. If you don’t want to, buy blizzard balance cards from ebay or somewhere.

Some banks also limit online transactions by default and they need to be manually enable (eg. from the online bank or by contacting the bank directly).

But again, it boils down to the suggestion the warlock above gave you: contact your bank.

It’s just weird that it does that despite having used the same card to buy stuff from blizz not so long ago.

Weird indeed. But if the transaction was declined, it was the bank that declined it. Blizzard would not have any information as to why… that’s private between you and your bank. The bank said no… whomever you spoke to at the bank has missed something it seems.

Now the add new payment method page won’t open up, after deleting the old one. Tried on PC( after deleting cookies and whatnot), tried on my phone (4g only, not on wifi).
Found some threads on this problem, seems like blizz won’t take our money anymore…

I had something similar a while ago. Except that the payment did go through, only afterwards I received a letter from the credit card company that they blocked my card due to suspicions of fraud. I contacted them to unblock, and also asked why they blocked it in the first place.
From what I understood from the explanation, Blizzard doesn’t instantly takes the money from your card, but first tries to do a transaction of 0 euro to check if it’s a valid card. Only then they take the money. But that transaction of 0 euro is apparently suspicious to the bank so there’s chance they block the card or the transaction.
Might not be 100% what she said, but that’s what I understood from it.

I thought Blizzard took a 1 Euro or Pound amount to check, I’m not sure why it was 0. They then take the payment and refund the 1 Euro. It’s not really the way to do it but I think it’s to make sure your subscription doesn’t end if it fails.

And if they do take 1 Euro why don’t they just take €11.99 for the next payment so they don’t have to refund it. I’m sure the refund costs them money.

Its not 0 euros, its 1 of whatever currency your card is in.
€1.00
£1.00
$1.00

Then they refund it almost immediately, and then take the full subscription price, and yes, I can see how some institutions would see a small debit, refund, larger debit as “suspicious”, but most would be able to look at the originator “Blizzard”, and realise its a blue chip company, and probably not fraud.

Just to chime in here, the other posters are correct in that this would be something to take up with the bank as we can only request the money, not block it. Different banks work in different ways and things can change all the time in the financial world. Just because your card worked 6 months or a year ago, doesnt always mean it will work after such a long break.

So if you do get a similar situation like this in the future, do reach out to your bank for more information and resolution. After that, it’s up to you if you want to continue trying the payment again
