Please introduce some form of catch-up mechanic for alts/warbound when it comes to crests.
Seeing the amount of crests needed to upgrade every slot might be okay (still alot) for 1 character. But doing the same grind for alts is just crazy.
12 crests for timed M+ and 5 crests for completed M+. Not to mention how long it takes to get groups as dps.
Examples could be to either reduce the amount of crests needed per slot on an alt if your main has already spent the full amount of crests for that slot (same as valorstones).
Or alts could have free crest-costs up to certain thresholds:
If your main has completed weathered crests with 593 gear in all slots, your alts dont need weathered crests, only valorstones.
If your main has completed carved crests with 606 gear in all slots, your alts dont need carved crests, only valorstones.
if your main has completed runed crests with 619 gear in all slots, your alts dont need runed crests, only valorstones.
Or something else… But I’d rather quit than start that grind on a 2nd character.
You get quite a lot of crests from the renown quartermasters alone if you’ve progressed the renown. Plus your alts already get a crest discount for their gear.
You can skip lot of that lower crest requirements with delves. I leveled a fresh alt recently to max, took it to delves and pretty fast got it to mix of champion and hero gear. Really only ended up needing runed crests really instead of weathered and carved crests, honestly was surprised how easy and fast it was.
There should be a buff to crests earned for characters behind honestly. We’re only 1 month into the season and it’s already depressing to see that 0/540 gilded crests that I have to do 45 timed +8 to catch up with my alts.
I find solo DPS content hard. so i dont do delves. I dont have the speed, reflexes and timing anymore at my age. I dont have an optimal keybinding setup and i have made peace with all of that. I am ok with being not as good as others.
The only reason i am still involved in M+ is that i like it and i start at the bottom so i get used to the pressure building up.
But even that has been taken away now. Anyway…
But it really ticked me off hearing people braggin about how easy it was for them to do a tier 8 delve and max out their slots every week when i had to slog through M+ to get gear and wait for the weekly vault to actually get a piece of loot since nothing dropped in the dungeon at all for me.
Once i reached a certain threshold in M+ as healer, nothing dropped anymore for me, i was helping gearing others only. I get crests only. Even on my enchanter who needs crystals i get nothing. Why bother?
I saw the RIO based M+ participation figures and it does not look good for blizzard who want engagement in their game. M+ is tanking now. The trend is a very sharp downeard trajectory.
If i was in charge of makign the decision to do the M+ change i would be worried as that backfired in a major way. They were warned. We told them. THey did not listen and now hav eto deal with tons of players not even bothering any more. THis is on top of all the people that will leave due to guild bank losses.
