Redesigning a spec to make it worse than it was is a testimony to the lack of knowledge and competence of the design crew. My eyes, we lose keefer’s skyreach, which was HUGE for our uptime (something WW really needed for uptime since there were already a bunch of classes that kited us to shreds). Now we gained clash instead which is nowhere near as valueable, and now they nerfed even that to a 1 min cd. Then next, WW dmg is focussed on tiger palm. So many talents focus on it, even the set bonus is focussed around it. Tiger palm for pvp dmg…LOVE it.
Nothing else to say. Ridiculous redesign, took away all the fun that WW was about the last years.
What constitutes last years? Because SL was not long ago…they obviously removed Skyreach because of the consolidation and reversal of melee having 8-10 yards extra range.
I don"t think a gap closer tied to a spammable rotational ability is healthy for the game.
Btw Clash is not bad because it serves as an interrupt aswell.
Don"t get me wrong, WW needs some love in PvP department, but I don"t think Skyreach is it.
Totally agree with Najani there. Skyreach isnt the problem, we have good mobility:
3x roll + 3x lighter than air → Tiger Lust → Flying Serpent Kick → Clash
Then you also have so much good tools to get to someone or hinder them getting distance:
Disable can still root → Paralysis to get to someone → Ring of Peace to bring them to you again or interrupt their escape → roll and ur Xuen can get u out of snares/cant get slowed below 90% movementspeed…
I like the idea making Tigerpalm a feels good to press button… what I dont like about the tierset for pvp is, that it deals AOE DMG, so u can get someone out of Paralysis or other CC´s like that…
Still gonna stick with WW Monk. To me, its the class fantasy I wanna play, and I also love having a ´´ challange ´´ making it work for me.
I myself dont like Xuen and SEF, so I wont play with those talents and instead spec more into Tigerpalm, SPC, BK, RS & SotW. Works for me!
So there are plenty of good tools u have as a monk in general.
A developer played elemental shaman and lost a duel against a WW monk. They had to reduce all damage, increase all armor so monk is useless. In addition remove skyreach because its to good talent.
