This quest can not be completed at the present time . When you get to the first ambush the quest just stops. According to Wowhead this has been bugged since 2010. I’ve tried it today and no joy. You just stop at the ambush and go no further. When I logged out and back in this time, Gorka and Brutusk were dead. After abandoning and restarting the quest I ended up with two sets of kodo’s. Edit: After posting this I heathed back to Orgrimmar which caused LUA error. I’ve had enough of this carp beta. Nothing going to be fixed.
