The Horde and The Alliance are not exactly friends. Why should the factions be able to speak the same language or communicate? The game is called World of Warcraft. The game is more or less about a war between these factions (and always has). If we take that away, shouldn’t the game just be called “Craft”?
You can always switch to the other team by buying it in the Blizzard store.
In warcraft 3 though… And 1- 2 for that matter. All races spoke common. The reason we speak different languages in the game was for gameplay reasons.
I might remember wrong on this one. But if I ain’t… The reason Blizzard seperated our languages was because of harassment reason in pvp situations.
We see it in BFA as well when we are in Warfronts. That the Horde and Alliance speak directly to each other in the same language and understand each other.
Not saying the races don’t have their own unique languages. But Common is well. A common language most races on Azeroth should understand. If it werent for the gameplay reasons and too prevent harassment.
The Elixir of Tongues where added to the game as a experiment Too see how well cross faction communication would go. Or so they said back then
I agree… But no more Warchiefs for the chopping block to make villains please The Horde fan base are kinda tired of loosing cool faction leaders for the sake of the plot.
so much this…
we’re kind of running low on leaders at this point, at least those that people care about…
I’d like us to drop the entire Friendship and magic show as well, so I can finally get my revenge for the Caravan bombing those Alliance criminals did.
I’m not 100% sure but I think that was the case yeah. They could disable it in WM and pvp if they worry about it there, but besides that I haven’t seen the point of the restriction anymore for ages now.
I mean, people struggle to even talk to eachother respectfully - or in common tongue (English being the guideline), WITHIN a faction.
I just made a thread about it even.
Elixir of tongues etc can for sure help, but idk about the people behind the screens…
It is a common sense guideline, basically aiming to be respectful to your surrounding.
If possible; Choose a language your fellow humans can understand.
Legit infuriating when i tired to trade something to a party member only to not be able to whisper him at first and then figure out that you have to be inside a damn dungeon to to trade.
