Cross-faction communication

Cross-faction communication

Some time ago we have gotten the ability to cross-realm and cross-faction with friends etc. What is holding the dev team back, from letting us using cross-faction ingame talk. Such as /say chatting & General/Trade chat in Valdrakken for trading purposes. We are allowed to chat with eachother, in BG’s, Arena, Dungeons, Raid and much more. But we’re not allowed to use chats in cross-faction cities. Such as Valdrakken and Dalaran etc.

Elixir of tongues helps with this :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

That might just only be a roleplayer server only thing if i remember correctly. I am not sure other servers have that Vendor and can buy that.

This got me curious, so I just checked: I’m not on an rp server, I can buy the elixir at the AH for 34 gold, and at the vendor in the Underbelly for 29 gold.

Ohh nice. When it launched it was said to be a RP server experiment at first. But I am happy its no longer a RP server exclusive thing \o/

Furbolg.

Join the other faction if you need to comunicate with your friend? For the alliance?

There is a hand gesture, which don’t need a language to communicate with the other side… you know what I’m talking about!

The most annoying thing for me is that you have cross faction LFG but you can’t even whisper the leader if they’re the opposite faction…

Tbf pandaren can talk x- faction. Maybe dracthyr? Need to test!

Pandaren, dracthyr, void&blood elves, demon hunters can talk using their specific languages. I use the void to blood elf communication almost daily(while subbed, that is) since I found out about it in BFA.

Really? I never really paid any attention with normal dungeons. I’ll have to look again when I level up this new hunter. I only thought it was in LFR/Normal/Heroic/Key runs, where you had cross faction play.

You can have cross faction play in 2v2/3v3 and rated battlegrounds (and solo shuffle but there’s no LFG for that). So when a Horde leader lists in LFG and you’re Alliance you can’t whisper them.

Maybe a bit offtopic and I may be the only one to feel this way, but why won’t they just add simple buttons on the side of the chat for all these commands instead of having us type “/instance” and stuff alike.

Well, do i have the solution for you. In the base UI, bottom left side of your chat you have a bubble you can click. All the options are there, excluding some emotes.

Also, to make it easier, write /i rather than /instance, /ra, rather than /raid, etc. Once you get used to it, you’d like it way more.

/I works for instance chat most of them first letter works. Bg is bg. Raid is ra

You can use /i for the battleground chat too. No use for multiple commands

Didn’t realise that worked :joy::smile::man_shrugging:

Hopefully something they’ll look at in the future to be able to chat outside of groups and use the same trade/general channels etc.

Add them to battle net friends and the issue is solved.
