Cross-faction garrison visits. Please...?

I would imagine it won’t be too long till this is possible too.

Cross faction guilds are already on the Horizon, and with it eventually also comes being able to spend time together in instanced/phased (e.g. Garrisons) and uninstanced zones (capital cities).

Can’t say I’m too happy with it due to the narrative degeneration it causes but the genie’s out of the bottle and there’s no putting it back in again.

Wise words which are directed well.

Would it not be good for your guild among others though, given that you seem to be playing on both sides of the fence now? I also imagine cross-guild would be quite beneficial for neutral rp guilds, like Argents, Cenarion, Earthen Ring etc.

And while I will admit that WoW and Warcraft became great on Alliance vs Horde narrative… the way the story has evolved, another faction war would make both sides look rather silly, especially after three years of apparent peace.

“We’re fighting… now we’re not… aaaand now we’re fighting again… and now we’re not.” Is how the faction-conflict has been. I won’t say there are no reasons for people to fight, there are, but… I say if they -do- start it up again, there has to be a decisive winner or both sides have to be so utterly depleted that they don’t wish to fight again.

it is what it is

Dragonflight is showing us that the absence of one is endlessly sillier, unfortunately.

How so? I must admit I have not been in the beta or watched spoilers yet.

Between human and orc captains stuttering each other’s languages and having dinner together, mechagnomes massaging blood elves at a dragon spa, and probably more that I am no doubt forgetting as I have stopped checking in a bit ago, they just seem intent on turning everything into random heartless nonsense.

So… People being friends and doing things as friends?
That only sounds silly in the context of WoW because zero effort has been made to portray something like it in the last 3 decades.

If you like it, that’s cool. I don’t and would rather they jump through some slightly goofy hoops to return to war or at least heavy tension, than start writing exclusively the kind of RP one might see in Duskwood or Dalaran

That’s what the time skip is for. All of that effort took place off-screen.

Yeah, maybe it’d feel less utterly bizarre if this wasn’t how it went. Maybe the orc and human captains being besties would work better if them fighting the unleashed scourge together was actually in the game. Hell, I was surprised that even got mentioned considering how little Blizz seemingly wanted to do with the whole scourge issue in Shadowlands.

It’d be silly to dig your heels in and say 100% of all orcs can never amicably communicate with humans and vice versa but it’s worth considering that the options to portray change are limited. We have a timeskip on our hand to smooth over three years of diplomacy and cooperation, the scourge war offscreen and that’s a bad move.

It’s also a bad move to dedicate an entire expansion to the factions cooperating and building said trust partly because so many would complain about Peacecraft and rightly so since they already did the Team Azeroth united factions peacekeeping force narrative in Legion only to follow it up with yet another world war!

As far as I know, the political snarl isn’t untangled in a meaningful way and the chafing of opposing factions, thalassian elves especially, is ignored.

For it to be meaningful, wow would need to be deeper than a petri dish.

I sometimes (most of the time) doubt we can have the second one either.

Thats the neat part, we don’t get those despite what blizzard says.
now get out there champion of azeroth and collect 13 bear butts followed by gathering the much needed murlock :poop: for a pair of green boots.
