With cross faction raiding coming, do you think that sometime in the future we will get cross faction guilds.
Just a thought.

hope so i think its not fair that endgame content is limited to factions specialy if the one faction is like 70% bigger maybe even more since in BG u often have 100% Horde Groups with Merc buff
I hope not
Blizzard has been very cautious over all those cross-faction changes because they are not sure how hard it would be to change the game code to allow cross-faction, having two separate factions is very entangled in the code of the game. So, they don’t want to make a promise of having everything cross-faction instead, and then they will start with the bare minimum and move forwards from there and only announce a cross-faction change once they know how hard is to do it.
I can’t wait to make my alt guild cross faction.
I can imagine they want to do it with the release of Dragonflight, but they need the proper feedback from 9.2.5 once it goes live before making such a big permanent decision.
- Cross-faction guilds may be considered in the future, but they want to take it slow and listen to community feedback.
In a recent interview with Ion, he said that they are working on cross faction guilds but the faction divide is so ingrained in the code that it will require more time.
EDIT Puny actually linked the interview in the post above ^
I think it would bring the community closer. I play alliance mostly and I adore my alliance guild. I dabble on the horde side occasionally but I don’t enjoy it as much mostly because I feel cut off from my friends. I think they should do it in Dragonflight it’ll bring us closer.
I personally don’t think cross faction alone goes far enough, I think cross faction guilds would finally solve the issues with players wanting to play Alliance characters but having to be on Horde for the guilds.
I know people can set up communities but they never work as well as guilds themselves do.
I totally agree, we have a community page but it’s hardly used and regardless I am a member of silver moon (guild name) and I want to stay that which ever faction I play on .
They will have to, because cross faction PVE won’t be enough to convince alliance players to stay there. Guilds are the driving factor for the faction imbalance, so the current faction imbalance will remain, as long as Blizzard does not go for cross faction guilds.
what is hard about it? private server can do it since Wotlk same for SoloQ and other Stuff they even Implement Transmog
If you give an explanation why not would be nice.
Yes please of right now alliance are for no lifers like the hacker in make love not warcraft episode of south park.
Believe what you want, what private servers can do or can’t do has no relation to how hard or easy is to do it on Blizzard official servers. Private servers are emulators, like console emulators, they don’t use any code from Blizzard, they replicate the official server with their own code, which has no relation to Blizzard code, it just replicates the functionality via reverse engineering process. The hard part is not the functionality of cross-faction, is to change a deep core concept of a 15-year-old legacy code that was not made with the idea of being able to remove that restriction.
Remove factions overal, Let all races be all classes, remove racials from all classes and see the variety that other games have and that people play what they think looks fun instead of needing to pick whats best or needed for racials.
Factions have no place in video games in 2022.
If you check any population site it’s about 55-45 which is fairly balanced alliance just don’t do much high end content I’d guess
Cross faction communities in 9.2.5 are essentially cross-faction guilds anyway. Just use that.
