Cross Realm Guilds

Greetings All!

I was just wondering why this has not been implemented as yet. (possibly because cross realm Storage / Names, would pose a problem)

Essentially, I find most issues with 1 faction sided realms or guilds on low pop servers is the lack of active guilds. You end up feeling like you need to move to high pop servers if you ever want to push content. I know you can pug and I know my skill level is super casual but I wanted to ask if Shadowlands is looking at this.

Similar to how you can have cross realm parties, why not extend this to Guilds? I know you can pug, I honestly just watched my friend pug heroic and 1 or 2 mythic but it would be nice to have an active guild without overpopulating a server even further.
Any thoughts?

I know that in Aggra and Grim Batol you can do that. Both realms behave as if it is only one.

So there are probably some more out there like that.

Well, communities are kinda filling that role ,the only thing you are missing would be guild bank everything else is pretty much the same.

Must admit I’ve not used that feature as yet. Will have to give it a go

That’s because basically they are one. They are connected realms.

Cross realm communities can raid up to and including heroic until the Hall of Fame is filled and Mythic opens.

Yea i honestly have no idea why this needs to be there, why cant pugs from different realms go mythic before HoF? Is there any good reason for that?

that HoF sort of attitude kinda forces people who want to try and push content to realms with active guilds pushing that content. My realm doesn’t have many horde guilds and my current guild never finished Heroic. I know I didnt participate in it, but I really want to in SL and I think being on my realm is actually limiting this.

It’s a relic from the past that has not gone.
I have to say there are a lot of things that got removed from the game even if they should not have, but realm ID lock is definitely something that should be gone. I mean, recruiting for Mythic raiding is damn hard that allowing X realm play would make a lot of players and guild happy. But it also means that Blizzard is loosing a lot of money.

Losing money because people would not need to realm hop? I’m considering it honestly. Since I lost my classic account (created in parents name and they would not pass it over), I’ve treated this one as something to keep up with the story but now I want to try and push content with an active guild. Just don’t see it happening on my realm so I’m split with what to do.

It sure would be useful. More useful than, say, this BS sharding thing working oh SO well that I literally see things disappear when I try to click them because someone, somewhere, whom I can’t see, whom I can’t interact with, clicked it first.

And it would actually put the WORLD in Warcraft. Players of the world, unite!

and in a community you can have your own guild for your alts which share this guild bank and then have all the organisational / communication stuff from the community.

Trading restrictions do mean guilds have an easier time (over communities) sharing materials, gold, food (that isn’t feasts), flasks (unless you use cauldrons), potions, vantus runes etc etc.

That’s the point. Blizzard’s prices regarding realm transfer are quite expensive (20€) so it’s quite obvious that’s a large income.

Yeah… I’m actually going to change the realm of my DH to the one I am right now, because that’s where my irl friends play and I want to be able to be in their guild, plus trade stuff with them, or loan gold, etc… Which I can’t due to the realm barrier, so the only option I got is the transfer. Gladly I only need to transfer one toon, I can’t imagine when people have to do it with several…

Blizz can make money on realm transfers I get that, but all those months I spend unsubbed because my realm dies (Literally end up being the only one online in the guild and that’s across a few guilds now) must surely outweigh that. Realm sharding was a step in the right direction and this isn’t really an issue for Mythic +. For raiding and community, I don’t feel any of this and I’m sure as SL progresses or stagnates after tier 1 raiding etc people will leave and it’s that spiral into a dead realm, dead guild again. As someone as casual as me I enjoyed the community (doesn’t really feel like it anymore) the most but now, I want to look at pushing content and want a guild rather than pugs that wipe so often my gear goes through more repairs and I waste too much time than I can be bothered with (Only recently returned and LFR people literally might as well be bots on attack move it’s unreal).
Being in a guild that’s active, even if it’s based on another realm would mean that I have regular people who I can play with, active player numbers that hit double digits and can push content with them (Surely it helps with their recruitment also). I just really think the community needs to push this at Blizz rather than have them trying to soak money from realm hops. Unless there is another reason to realm hop?

Edit: On top of this you would not have the issue of a few overpopulated realms with long log in times as people would then be ok with their lower population realm as they still find guilds pushing content, can guild group or pug mythic + and world content through the finder. This guild issue seems to be the last thing limiting this but a rather big one…
