I feel like the implementation of cross realm trading is going to make pugging raids on alts and such a miserable experience.
We already see people rolling need on things they don’t need to use as bargaining chips or for transmogs (ignoring the transmog roll option). When it is seamless to trade between realms I expect to see people needing things they don’t need and then selling them for gold to people in the raid.
The need restrictions won’t even help with this because you can just bank your item(s) and then roll on them as normal, I think it’s going to make greed go through the roof and that’s rather annoying.
I’m not sure I see how this is going to make any difference to raids. You can already trade gear that drops between anyone in the raid regardless of realm.
Tbh you can’t roll need on items you don’t need. Most of the times are side grades or off specs. Game doesn’t let you roll on items you already have same or higher ilvl.
Maybe you confuse side grades or off spec gear with different secondaries.
You can trade the gear regardless of the realm, but you can’t trade gold until now. So, now, everyone could press need and trade the item for gold with any other player of the raid, but before the change, those people only can sell the item for gold to players from their own realm.
Press need on rare trinket. Win it. 10 other people need it. Offer it to the person who pays 500k. Get gold. Profit.
I can even imagine it the other way around. Person wins trinket or weapon that has better stats/bis but same ilvl as equipped (so it’s tradeable). Gets bombarded with ‘u need bro??’ and one of these are bound to offer gold for it.
I already get bombarded with offers on rasza LFR when the mount dropped. Guy kept haunting me for 10 minutes, offering gold and pets.
Personally begging annoys me more than others “ninjaing” stuff.
I don’t see the issue. The person rolled for the item (even if they don’t need it) and then offer to sell the item they don’t need for something they need.
That sounds totally legit to me. Just like in every free market. Just because they don’t need it doesn’t mean they have no right to roll for it.
Tbf, people are already needing on everything they can. Maybe loot selling runs could be a problem, but who would join them? I’ve seen a few “xyz item reserved” runs in group finder, and they stayed empty.
Yeah, but it will make people leave or delete rare trinkets to sell trinkets in raids, and then item restore them, or pick them up from bank again lol Problem is that gold has way too much value in the game
I actually forgot something that happened recently on my alt since the patch:
A demon hunter got curio from sarkareth on normal mode. He had full heroic tier set and asked in chat “WTS curio”. After someone told him that we can’t trade gold, he immediatel left without rolling it off.
I was stating facts about what can happen with the new system. I have never said if it was right or wrong, particularly because I don’t have a profound opinion about the morality of this, aka I don’t care, so I don’t understand why you are answering me with your opinion. I only can tell you that congratulations on having your own opinion, but it is irrelevant to my message, I guess, so I don’t understand why you are telling me this.
That wasn’t my intention. Someone asked what changed and I answer him with the facts about what is changed.
I worded it as giving true facts, not as an opinion. Recognizing that a thing exists doesn’t means I have a problem with it.
Don’t misunderstand me. I don’t have a problem, but that doesn’t means I automatically believe it is right. I am indifferent to this question. So, I am not on either side. Nor in favor, not against.
