As we know, with TWW they’ll be introducing War Bands and by extension being able to unlock transmogs regardless of your class…
How will this work with specific drops off Rares that only certain specs have a chance of it dropping for?
Example: Ravenomous [Maldraxxus] drops the Acid Tipped Stinger dagger (no other source of the same look) that ONLY Rogue Assassins and Subs have a chance at for it dropping, won’t even drop for Outlaws… I’ll never see it drop for my Priest despite being able to use daggers.
Will this spec locked drops be removed so any class/spec can gather and unlock the transmog? Or will this daft system of spec locked drops still be kept?
There are some really weird restrictins in the game at the moment.
Some rares can drop weapons your spec can’t use and some of the can’t.
For example, DF rares can drop 2H maces with str. and int. on it though i have no use for them. Similar to bows and rogue daggers. However Zereth Mortis rares can’t drop items my spec can’t use.
It all should be lifted, all restrictions. That or add another loot specialization that allows “all specs/classes” loot to be dropped. It’s something collectors as myself would love.
Aye, as a collector these Rares are rather infuriating as it forces you to use an alt just for that specific LOW CHANCE at that drop… should be abolished since legacy loot is a thing.
As a Collector, please remove these spec locked drops off rares and let them all drop regardless of class, same to how legacy loot works.
Honestly can’t fathom why it was made this way to begin with in Shadowlands… maybe even before that. Lost an ungodly amount of time doing such Rares to learn much later that certain items will never drop for my Priest despite being able to equip them…
Thanks for telling me what I already know, hence this thread…
And why would I feel bad? Feels worse being ‘forced’ to play a specific alt [example as mentioned above, the Acid-tipped Stinger ONLY drops for Assassin/Sub Rogues, not even Outlaw] just to get a very small chance at.
Rares already drop whatever’s tied specifically to them, have so throughout all of WoW’s history as they do in DF… but in Shadowlands they gave Rares personalised loot drop tables… which was beyond stupid because Transmoging has been a thing for more than a decade.
And then there’s Legacy loot to have all stuff drop while doing raids and dungeons of old content for the collectors out there, so people can unlock transmogs of gear outside of their stats as you mentioned for an agi weapon on an int spec that is still equippable.
