Current state makes me want to quit.... again

The current state of the game makes it just a miserable experience for so many players, M+ being IMPOSSIBLE to PUG past +4, because either people will leave at the SLIGHTEST hint of not being a perfect run, and higher m+ rated players are the absolute WORST at doing this, to the point where even inviting high rated m+ players is almost a guaranteed key fail. and trying to even get into higher keys past +4 is also impossible without getting to 1500 rating, but getting to 1500 rating means having to do higher keys…“BuT JuSt JoIn a GuIld!” heard this argument a thousand times, and since playing in cata, i haven’t found a stable guild that doesn’t die within a few months.

so after needing a break from trying to gear my main i decided yesterday to try and gear some of my alts just to learn that they for some inexplicable reason decided that it was a good idea to increase the HC dungeon requirement to 567, but leave the normal dungeon drops at 554, leaving a 13 ilvl disparity between normal and HC… so looked around my map and what do you know… ONE worldquest had an item at 567… what in the absolute F*** are they even thinking with over at Blizz HQ… this was the expansion where alts and rerolling were supposed to be much easier due to Warband. only to have this nonsense come up “oh but just do weekly quests and get the rep epics” ah yes, the rep epics that sums to a total of 3 of the needed 13 ilvl increases… and weekly giving 2 items a WEEK, and delve being absolutely a sh*thow sub 600ilvl and even then its limited to the amount of keys you have, and then lets face it… yes i got 3 cloaks, as we all do. so after doing all options except paying for a god damn mythic boosting service, my alts are stuck unable to progress into hc until next week, and just getting all this done took me a few hours.

so not only are m+ completely screwed for anyone not playing 5 hours a day with a stable guild, but they also completely screwed over people who enjoy alts, to the point that this current state is probably the single worst time to play alts i have EVER seen since i started playing.

If pugging doesn’t work for you, make friends in the game and run M+ with them. Make that a thousand and one times. There’s simply no other option, my dude.

No pressure, chill streak, dungeon dojo, etc.

Play a class that can tank and gear in Delves.

After 2-3months of low effort anyone can be 619. Which will make it easier. There is also the chance Blizz will nerf M+ into the ground or make it more rewarding if not enough people are playing it.

I immediately abandon anything that is too annoying or difficult. So if I was in your position I’d already have quit.

M+ pugging has been degraded during this patch.

I was doing 7-9’s yesterday with a group of friends and while we didn’t clear the 9 in time, we did clear everything and generally had a good time. My DPS was roughly on par with the others, sometimes a bit lower, despite my horrible gear due to bad RNG.

In the pug world though, oh Lord… Not only does it take half a decade to find a group for a +2 (which I obviously started with), but we couldn’t even finish it because people were getting mad at each other and leaving left right and center.

This is of course all because people are used to all the levels being 10 higher for the same difficulty and now everybody’s losing their minds over “having trouble with a +3 on the first week” - well of course you are, it’s like a +13 in the first week in previous expansions - not everbody were capable of doing that - but people don’t get it and they flip out.

And if I take my gear + low score into higher keys, I just plain don’t get invited despite this being the first week. Doesn’t matter that I can cite 3.2k rating in the recent past - I am not welcome.

Thank god I’ve found a circle of friends again, otherwise I would’ve ragequit this game by now.

If M+ is what you care about in WoW, it is wise to quit. M+ is dead content. There is no point to waste your energy or emotion on it.

Looks like it is quite alive actually.

used to have a circle of friends playing, most are either playing other games, or just not touching m+ due to the toxicity if you dont have a premade 5 man grp.

i dont really care about m+, but sadly it is the only viable way to gear past 600, as delves are limited by the number of keys available, and delves also have a weird fetish of only rewarding cloaks…

Like was said, try a community like NoP. And yes, M+ is a pooshow atm with selfish idiots leaving at the drop of a hat.

On the gearing for HC thing, this is a trivial problem. I got warbound things for alts along the way, you can buy items very cheap off the AH, you can craft cheap, there are 3 rep items, there is a guaranteed 571 neck, you can upgrade the things very easily.
How are people turning something so simple into an issue?

It is slightly amusing when they all start getting mad at each other though. I rarely type anything into in-game chat unless I’m running with a friend, but I do observe the carnage when running PUGs and apart from hindering me slightly I can’t help finding it quite entertaining and having a little chuckle to myself.

And here I am; someone who has always focussed on 1 single main, gearing up 2 alts already in week 2 of the expansion because it’s so fast and easy.

Delves are the answer to your gearing issue. :innocent:

But of course, M+ will always suck (imo) because of the players. It instills a way of playing the game that is destructive (imo).

M+ is toxic cesspool.

PuG scene went mad following the change in 10.2.

I am actually shocked. I guess it’s the “exhausted XP is stupid but rested XP is great even though I now need twice as much XP” mentality, combined with the general toxicity due to Blizzard’s way of handling the community, that is wreaking havoc on the scene.

In any case, I think the way delves work has revealed the weakness of the keystone system. People are tying themselves into knots and throwing rage tantrums to a degree that is almost unfathomable.

Keys are being lost, people are complaining about everything, there’s massive gatekeeping, groups standing empty for hours, tanks are still OP, healers don’t want to play, I’m not getting to run the new dungeons because I keep getting keys for the old ones, at one point my group had 4 Siege of Boralus at the same time.

The keystone system was always trash. It’s still trash. It’s frustrating to watch it fail again.

People just want hard dungeons. How hard is this to understand? Why must everything be some grindy competition in this bloody game…

They got mad at me as well. Someone in Necrotic Wake spinning around the 1st boss like a maniac, cleaving people to death, including me, then he flames me and ignores me, calling me “the worst most retarded mage to ever exist” - except the language was somehow even more colorful than that.

And you know what - fair enough. He’s pissed off and the game gives him no opportunity to learn because we can’t talk and learn because we’re on a “tight schedule” thanks to that stupid timer.

The state of balance also doesn’t help, feels like SL S1 all over again, weekly hotfixes, sometimes even several, as if the game did not have a PTR.

I must be swimming in the wrong pool then.

People still don’t get that this is a social game where life is better if you run dungeons with people you get on with. Too many people expect this to be some kind of Amazon Prime experience.

this freaking matter again. Join a m+ guild, describe what are you looking for in the lfr. I havent see toxicity in pugs since BFA and why? cause i just did the aforementioned steps.

The first boss does not have a cleave. It does a frontal on 1 random non tank player. That player should not target the frontal on the group. Then there will be adds that casts which wrecks players. So you want to kill them asap.

Well someone was spinning that thing around and it sure as heck wasn’t me because it was trailing me, not directly on me. I died on the edge of it.
