I know already, that what I will hear here is “lol 1800” “yeah let’s tune for 2v2”. Try to save those answers and actually think about the state of the game. I’ve been playing the game since vanilla wow, and I’ve PvP’d from TBC up to WoD and came on and off/BFA. My main in PvP have been always Disc Priest which I have multiple. I’ve seen low rated PvP and also Higher ranked PvP. Peaked around 2700 MMR and 2550 CR.
Currently I’m trying to gear my character in 2v2 and yes - I agree game should not be tuned around 2v2, but 2v2 absolutely should be still playable. Currently the state of 2v2 is absolutely horrific to play. Since the latest patch and the 20% dampening since the start of the game it hit Disc hard. Warriors and Monks literally can go thought my PS/Trinket/Rapture like it was nothing. I need to pop PS in stun, trinket, barrier and spam Rapture shield to survive until Barrier/PS/Rapture drops off and I die around second set of CD’s (my CD’s are not up yet).
My shadow mend in arena crits around 8-10k ish against Mortal Strike effects while 10k hits are not rare to me. Even when my team mate tries to peel for me, it helps but won’t save me. Most of the time goes for trying to save the disc priest while disc priest have always been the most offensive “scary healer in-game” but currently I barely have globals to cast any offensive spells. All my globals goes to Mend, Radiance and shields. 2v2 arenas literally are unplayable for disc priest. “Get good kid” ye I’m trying. It’s like playing with a guitar that as broken strings, you just can’t make it sound good.
3v3 seems alot better, but compared to Holy Pala and Resto Shaman it breaks my heart to see once I’m oom and use Solance on CD to see I’m at 5% mana and they have 85%.
I would really love to see any response from Dev’s, not to my message directly but on any site if they are looking into Disc. I’m about to give up.

They just announced buffs for arms warrior today. I’m honestly lost for words and I don’t think I’ve ever came up to forums in hopes of actually making a difference. I know it won’t but I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel I’m handicapping my self and my team everytime I queue up for arena as disc priest.
hm i mean according to the spec representation disc is the 2nd best healer both in 2s and 3s.
Played disc in 2s myself and it felt pretty fine a few days ago. Windwalkers are a nightmare but you just need to play very offensive or you cant win.
I think at higher ratings its hard to win as disc against good hpala/war or hpala/ww teams thats true and i agree on that.
In 3s though disc seems really good. Also not on the same level as hpala but disc has many very strong combs. Not only rmp i saw disc in caster cleaves and in melee cleaves this week above 2400+ mmr.
Disc ooming before everyone else is also pretty normal. If that wouldnt be the case discs would be the most op healer with instants like radiance, ps, barrier, rupture, 2 schools of magic and offensive tools like mindgames and dark.

Played disc/war at 2100 mmr last week and while ww/hpal and war/hpal felt really hard to beat its not impossible.
In 3s i actually dont even play disc im sp but im facing a ton of discs and played disc/ele/frostmage on my alt ele yesterday. Disc is always a race against the time but ye.
So you don’t really play disc, but said disc is fine as u face them in higher rating? I know it’s playable in 3’s. I never said they weren’t. You absolutely can get 3000 rating even as Hydra have shown us for example. Not my point. But what’s the reason for picking Disc over Holy Paladin? I’m sure you find some reasons, but there’s not many.
You’re 100% true. We’re absolutely 2nd best healer right after Holy Paladins and Resto Shamans. I know Druids have it even worse. There’s Druids at 3000 rating too, do you think druids are fine?
whazz dominates the tournament yesterday as rmp so thats not the whole true.
Also disc often gets counterpicked in tournaments which cant happen on ladder. You can counterpick disc and oom them pretty good.
I would also argue that you dont need to think about discs performance in AWC tournaments when you are playing below 1800 CR and disc overall has a high representation on ladder in 2s and 3s at higher ratings.
I was playing disc in 2s pretty often this season on 2000+ mmr so im playing disc yes.
Disc is only really stronger than holypala in rmp or jungle but what is this argument? Just because disc isnt the best healer of all healers in the game right now you dont like it? There will always be a best spec. Is disc fine for pushing to really high ratings without putting yourself in a disadvantage? yes. Everything else doesnt matter.

I had high hopes for SL regarding playing as Disc. Ive played disc in 3 expansions and have now given up, I cancelled my subscription and only have a few hours left. Everything ive done is fruitless in the current meta and I play better than ever before yet it’s not enough. I’ve recorded my games, worked with positioning, CD management, using better addons, trying to be mana efficient and overall reading the game better. None of the actions ive taken have resulted in anything other than a reduction of my rating.
I promised myself not to torture myself as I did in BfA and I’m a man of my word, account cancelled. Hope you see a buff to priests soon man, gl!
