Current state of MW Monk

Hello wow/monk community,

I started playing my mw monk as main in shadowlands and I realized following:

  • Mana Problems
    • I am not the best healer in the world (of warcraft) but I have the feeling that some spells of MW Monk are not designed to have mana cost at all… expel harm for example
  • No Reason why people would let me join raids at all
    • I realized that I have no damage reducing effect to help the raid…
  • HPS is okayish and could be a way better…

I am at ilevel 179 now and I start regretting my choice… MW Monk feels like he is not scaling at all

Am I the only one with this problems/thoughts ?

Get used to this. People wont inv you to M+ or Raids or PVP. MW monk is never the best healer and when it rises up instantly gets hammered down (rising mist+haste end of BFA).
I have my MW as alt now for pvp and fun, i rerolled to Disc Priest. I suggest you the same reroll now while we are not too deep in SL.
Druid, Priest, Shaman all really good atm.

If you like MW, you should stay MW. If you are part of a committed, dedicated raiding team where you playing MW is a problem, then it was already a requirement that you have at least one other Healer available for use anyway.

Healers are always needed. It’s rare you’ll be passed up because “you’re not a Disc Priest” because nobody wants to wait 30 minutes in the PGF to find their ideal healer & covenant combo.

Mana is tighter for many healers than it used to be. It’s getting better with gear, but people who never had to sit and drink at the end of BfA are still having to do so.

For raids; if yours go anything like mine, my monk is a HPS factory. No, it doesn’t have utility, but in 8.1-8.3, and pre-patch, I was bringing more raw healing than anyone else. Other people can put damage reduction on the tank; you’re there to heal the group, and you do that pretty well. (Caveat; we never had a meta holy paladin - maybe they could have put me in 2nd place?)

my issue isn’t with hps but the class feels broken mechanics wise. I read all skills, mastery etc and concluded blizz wants me to use vivify to cleave heal on targets with hots.
dead fkin wrong. you have to spam essence font and rjw on CD and enveloping when yu’lon is up. I looked at the logs of top healers and life cocoon did more healing than their vivify.
am I just supposed to ignore the “intended” mechanics and spam aoe…aoe…aoe… for 5 minutes straight?
