Hey ive recently came back from a several years of break from wow last i played was like end of cata and thru MoP, i dont know but somehow i find current wow really difficult, feels like its way to much abilites and passvies so much to keep track of. Ive tried to use “Easy Mode” builds on some of my 80 characters which ive been leveling during the TW dungeons but its a real mess to keep track of everything. Is there any class thats pretty straight forward? ive tried paladin and rogue at 80, pala was abit easier but still feeling abit overwhealming with all support and attack spells, is there perhaps as alot easier class to play that requires less keybinds etc?
Edit. I mean for Retail wow in TWW Expansion*
Ret paladin is a class that i find have few buttons to manage when it comes to the damage rotation. They do have some utility aswell though, but you can learn to use that when your damage rotation is in place.
Havent played beast master hunter this expansion so dont know how they are now, but they used to be fairly ok to manage aswell.
I think pala is a easy and convenient class, it’s versatile, has good damage and defenses plus it can fill all roles.
The game in general has a higher skill ceiling and it gets increasingly harder as you progress through content.
My advice to you is don’t rush anything, take it easy and learn your way around. Practice your class and rotation, do easy content and don’t stress.
I also like to add that i understand that it can be very overwhelming to return after being gone so long. I returned to BFA after being gone since Cata, and the game had changed so much.
I started of by just speccing into as many passives as i could. Then started adding more and more abilities as i felt more comfortable. Also had to add more keybinds and learn how to use more keybinds aswell.
If you want to play on easy mode you cant go wrong with ret pala for melee or bm hunter for ranged. Both are easy to pick up and just jump into content.
But as mentioned theres no need to rush. Adding abilities one by one isnt a bad option either.
Have you tried levelling these classes from 1? It really is the best way to get to grips with the class.
Fury warrior is very straight forward with good self healing. But ye, best just to try out different classes and specs until you find somethin ya enjoy. Demonhunter is something that people who are new tend to enjoy, at least thats what some friends who are new have enjoyed the most.
Hunter,Frost DK, Ret,aug, warrior are all braindead specs just play those
If it makes you feel better you can pretty much ignore all the support spells unless you do the hardest content. Ret paladin is a good beginner spec for DPS.
That being said, yes the game is way too hard, and your post is basically proof of this.
Youtube vids on WoW patches used to be about what classes were the best. Now they are about what specs are easiest to play. Even worse Blizzard have reworked a lot of the previous beginner specs, so there are not a lot left.
Also install this addon called Hkili it basically tells you how to do your rotation, it is a massive help and sadly required or a massive help for many of the playerbase because Blizzard are incompetent and trying to make the game for the top 1 % to avoid being screamed at on Twitter by their favourite streamers.
using Hkili blindly you will, and I am not joking, do better damage than 60-80 % of the playerbase.
Demo Lock & Beast Mastery Hunter - both have tanky pets for an added bonus.
Demon hunter has less spells and some of the hunter specs aren’t too bad if you want easy dps. If you want tank pala is very straightforward and as a healer probably priest (holy is easier but disc is more effective) or shamen.
However, levelling with TW is too fast and undertuned so you dont have time to work out rotations the way you would in the older expansions so it might be worth doing some delves and follower dungeons to get used to the new specs.
I took a break from wotlk until MoP and when I came back I had a similar issue getting used to the changes, with time and a bit of effort I got used to it, though I changed main in the end.
